What pedals do you use when you play acoustic? Why?

can swap out the M-! Active pickups to any of the 4 acoustics if I need/choose to do so.

How often do you do this? I really like the Baggs sound hole pickups but I can't imagine it would be fun to do this very often, so if you have a secret for quick changes, please share!

My 58 just died. Didn't know that could happen!

I did not either, actually. That's kind of impressive :)

I've only swapped out a pickup once. It's a bit of work. I loosen the strings enough to pull the pegs so that I can work comfortably removing the pickup. There's a 1/8" male jack that plugs into the pickup.
Here's a photo of the LR Baggs strapjack. At the time, a couple of years ago, it cost me $35 CAD.

That's a cool idea, to install the jack in all the guitars and swap the pickups.

I have a Voyage Air guitar and the neck folds which I thought would make switching out a sound hole pickup pretty easy but... even with the strings out of the way, it wasn't easy to put in.

Fortunately that guitar is the one I use for pretty much everything away from home- gigs, travel, etc - so I haven't needed to change it out but eventually I expect my daughter will want to plug her acoustic in. So I'm kind of eyeing options that don't cost me another Baggs. You're not kidding, they're pretty nice but a bit spendy just to have as a standby

easy fix ,
1)screw in the set screw for the XLR connector GENTALLY pul out the XLR connector ( very gentally) look for a broken contact to the XLR , if none found

2) take the ball off of the capsule really gentally see if you can pull the capsule out ,it will be tight but dont force it ,if the capsule comes out look for broken wires or contacts , if none found slide the capsule back _DO not twist !

I have seen 2 types of 58's one with a transformer one with out ( older ones had a transformer )

if there is a transformer it will be held in place with hot glue

3)very slowly and carefully unscrew the black plastic capsule holder from the mic base count how many turns it took to get it open do not over twist when un threading the base , again check for broken wires

If any found resolder ,

once you have re assembled the mic body then replace the XLR connector , the wires may over twist on reassembally so be carefull

if no broken wires are found , then its a good chance the capsule is dead and that is you worst case scenario

I have repaired about 300 of these ,57's, sennheiser 421's , 441's, certain AKG's etc

Thanks! I'll give it a try.

I use Bagg M1A active pickups. Like the previous poster, I have the endpin/cable in all my acoustics and two M1A's I can move around.

Live I use a LR Baggs Venue DI Acoustic Guitar Direct Box and Preamp. That handles EQ and levels with both an XLR out and 1/4" out depending on what you need. It also has a boost button for solo boost or sometimes for switching from strumming to fingerstyle songs. It has a tuner, but I don't like it. I have a Petersen Strobostomp before the DI box.

The Venue DI has an EFFECTS LOOP. In the loop I have an Xotic SP compressor, a Danelectro tremolo, a MXR Phase 90 (sometimes), a Line 6 Roto-Machine, a DigiTech Mosaic 12-string emulator, Yellow Fall delay for slap back, MXR Carbon Copy for all other delay.

If I am using an electric, I'll put Bad Monkey in the loop and an RC Booster between the 1/4" out and the amp. I've found running the electric through the Venue DI works just fine and keeps me from needing two boards for acoustic and electric stuff.

Lots of cool ideas here to think about, as I try to get my head around how best to use my newly acquired acoustic’s piezo output.

Cool thread!
