Nah, that's was from previous players... I bought it off eBay and the seller shared that he found it in a pawnshop in rural Washington State. No idea of the exact whereabouts or the backstory on the autograph. It's seen things and then some I bet. It had a really cool V neck profile.... pretty darn heavy tho - guessing around 9lbs.

Wow, great timing -eh? Well, X-mas isn't all that far off right? Post some pics once they arrive and you've had a chance to check them out.

    Wow - Nice! That's a great weight.
They switched over to ash sometime in late '86/early '87 so it could very well be ash.
Don't rule out maple tho. As mentioned maple tends to be on heavier side of things but as with ash it can be light as well. I had an '83 SC-1 (maple body) and it was super light as in 6 lbs.

What's the neck profile like on blondie?

Interesting re the red alder. That could be what it is. I don't know for sure what BBE used in the mid '90's tho they did switch over to alder other than on natural or sunburst guitars so perhaps it was this variety.

Re the spots, those are the pin router holes. Same scenario as Fender bodies (ie, 2 in number) tho just in different locations. You'll see one on the back of the headstock as well.
That's a great looking trio. Hope you're out of the dog house so to speak...

Thanks, I've actually just hid them in the closet to avoid her asking any questions. She knows about the Boadcaster because I bought it for our son, and I explained to her its a special guitar and may appreciate in value for him. However, it's getting to be a hassle waiting until she's not around to take them out and play them, then having to put them away again. So, I was thinking maybe I just leave one out all the time and tell her it changes colors. She doesnt take too detailed an interest in my gear, she sort of just "surveys" things to see if there's anything to yell at me about, so this might work

Placing it on a scale may well give a clue between maple and alder.
