American Standard is my # 1. Tried the American Deluxe but didn't care for it. Sounded sterile and didn't like the neck as well as the Standard's.

I helped a teen get one of the Modern Player's and modded it for him by replacing the bridge pickup with a Lil '59 and wiring it with switch for parallel / series option and putting an Area '61 pickup in the middle that I had laying around. Plus rewiring the guitar with new CTS pots, shielded wiring, installing a PIO .047 instead of the .033 film cap, and putting on heavier better made knobs. It is one mean sounding guitar on stage. He can play country with twang by using the bridge pickup in parallel mode then flick the switch, kick in the distortion and play something Van Halenish if he wants. The middle pickup sounds nice and clear for rhythm. I'd rather put in a Dimarzio '58 in the middle because they are just a tad smoother for rhythm but the '61 isn't bad at all. Currently trying to find him a good used Fender tube amp. He will be auditioning for The Voice this next season...

I have new Baja Blonde, I love it however it makes want a Fender American Vintage '52 just because I like the Baja so much. If that makes any sense. Playing it mostly through a 1995 Blues Deluxe.

    Happy New Year

My everyday guitar, an old '94 MIM toploader. Poor thing's starting to show it's age a bit:

More often than not, the Baja in the middle of the shot, but the other two get used well too

Fiesta Red Telecaster which I believe to be a partscaster with various american parts.
