What kind of Shawbucker is this and where can I find one?

Can anyone help me better identify the neck pup in these offset teles? They are marketed as a “wide range-style Shawbucker,” but they fit in a normal humbucker pickup cavity, unlike most wide range pickups that are huge and would not fit. When I search for a Fender Shawbucker, all I can find is a zebra humbucker without staggered pole pieces. It’s not the same.

Any helpful guidance? I really want the exact pickup used on these limited run guitars, without buying a whole guitar and just put it in the neck of my parallel universe Meteora (which has a humbucking cavity at the neck).

Thank you!

They show up used on Reverb every so often, but I don't think they were ever available as an aftermarket pickup. There's a bridge up there right now, https://reverb.com/item/41107452-fender-shawbucker-bridge-pickup

Thank you! I just can’t seem to be able to properly identify them, I’m not sure what identifiers to look for on eBay and Reverb search results. The seller for this item on eBay told me this was not the humbucker sized Shawbucker I was looking for. I guess look for a third mounting hole on either side? http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...0001&campid=5338148343&icep_item=203444327543

Since they have a coil split I would assume they are the same as the pickups in the American Professional II Tele Deluxe:

https://shop.fender.com/en-US/elect...essional-ii-telecaster-deluxe/0113962718.html

I know the page calls them "Double Tap" pickups the Service Manual for the American Ultra HSS Stratocaster calls the pickup a "Shawbucker". Fender has yet to upload the Service Manuals for the American Professional II models.

I would suggest verifying this through Make'n Music or through Fender. And it could be that these are not yet publicly available, just available as replacement parts to dealers/service centers or through some place that parts out guitars like Stratosphere Parts, etc.

so I bought this, banking on the fact that the seller didn’t actually measure it himself and is wrong about the size, telling me “looks like fender says it’s 5.1 x 4.75 x 1.5 inches.” However, I’m hoping it’s actually 3.75” x 1.25” so that it’ll fit in my normal humbucker cavity. Maybe he’s wrong about that and also wrong about it being a bridge pickup? I see this one you posted (that I just purchased) also has three mounting screw holes on each wing. I can’t tell by the wiring. I guess I’ll find out on Monday when it’s here!

Shawbuckers are standard HB size, there are only two widely spaced mounting holes on the real WR, and the mounting tabs are much larger. Also, covers are less round on a WR.

Should work fine in the neck. Only issue might be string/pole spacing, a bridge pickup pole spacing might be a little wider and the strings might not line up perfectly.
