In Canuckistan they were pretty big and had lots of legitimate hits. At least one, but probably two, greatest hits records. Outside Canada? Dunno.

My post wasn't so much about April Wine being a one-hit wonder as it was pointing out they beat the other band to the title by 9 years. Plus, I was going back and forth between this and the power pop thread, and I was thinking that was getting posted there.
AW had a bigger hit in the US with Just Between You And Me. And a couple minor hits with Roller and Sign Of The Gypsy Queen.
Love April Wine.
And yes, they toured here. One of the first shows I wanted to see (parents said no) was April Wine, Nazareth, and Thin Lizzy. Stupid parents.
