This is a pretty good list. I would only differ on Sandinista where it would have to be Charlie Don't Surf or Somebody Got Murdered for me.Favorite Clash song, eh? Boy, that's a tough one.I'd have to put "Complete Control" amongst my favorites, too but I'll have to cheat on this and choose my favorite song on each of their albums (I'll skip "Cut The Crap"):
1. The Clash (U.K. LP) = "Janie Jones"
2. The Clash (U.S. LP) = "(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais"
3. Give 'Em Enough Rope = "Stay Free"
4. London Calling = "Death Or Glory" (with "Spanish Bombs" a very close second, but damn, the entire album is great)
5. Sandinista! = "Corner Soul"
6. Combat Rock = "Straight To Hell"
To cheat even further, some non-album tracks favorites:
1. "Jail Guitar Doors" B-Side to "Clash City Rockers"
2. "Gates Of The West" Cost Of Living E.P. Track (Mick Jones at his best!)
3. "Groovy Times" Cost Of Living E.P. Track
4. "The Prisoner" B-Side to ""(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais"
People allways say that London Calling is their best record, but as a punk fan, their first was my favorite. This song is just so epic and I love everything about it, especially the leads.
