An instrumental played on a steel guitar ends up a #1 hit on the Billboard pop chart? Now I've seen everything!

"I'm glad I was born when I was. My time was the golden age of variety. If I were starting out again now, maybe things would happen for me, but it certainly would not be on a variety show with 28 musicians, 12 dancers, two major guest stars, 50 costumes a week by Bob Mackie. The networks just wouldn't spend the money today." - Carol Burnett

Yep... about sums it up for me! :)

    White Castles = 20 cents

    Leaded Fuel = 50 cents

    Unleaded Fuel = 65 cents

3 Channels on the TV - no remote, no cable, no satalite

    New Tele's/Strats USA made = 5/600.00ish

No video games - Had to play outside and build forts etc.

Carburated motors - No fuel injection, no sensors, no computers

No cell phones - Had to use pay phone 20 cents

Books in school - No laptops, tech gadgets etc.

Pan head/ Shovel Head Harley's - No evo, no foreign knockoff HD's

1st car 1956 Merc Monteray - Paid 250.00 for all original condition, low miles

I was born in the same month that the Beatles made their TV debut.

And, I was born on the very same day as the Proclaimers. Yes, both of them!!!
