A bear comes out of the woods , picks up a sledge hammer hits the thing on the bottom and a counter weight slides up the pole and rings the bell , but in this case some bear stole the bell ,and the light as well

vandals are everywhere 😭

Its a noodle measuring stick... :)

It was good to meet you!
I thought we were keeping our meeting a secret! If I had known it wasn't to be kept secret, there would be a photo for the Bad Dog Cafe.

Now I've had personal contact with TDPRI members Benderfreak (MIA), 64Tele, the late Nicodermis, William Tele (MIA), and the very much alive Dogmeat, who took my wife and me for a hovercraft ride up the Knik River, in addition to Preacher, who picked up the check for our lunch.

I am just a figment of everyone's imagination... I just saw the notice about the Sunday Jam on here this morning... that stinks that I missed it!

I don't know if the 3 gin and tonics factor in, but that just sent me into a giggle fit. 🤣

That is called a 'stepped snail cam', used for lots of machinery stuff. In some vehicles, a large version of this presets the load on a torsion bar suspension. Smaller versions are used for setting camber, caster, or toe-in for the front and rear wheels. Even smaller versions are used for semi-permanent presets on carburetors, etc.

That specific one is probably off a piece of power equipment like a riding lawnmower or perhaps a gas-powered leaf blower.

Motorcycles often use them on the rear wheel to adjust chain tension, with one on each side of the wheel so the wheel can be moved in proper alignment. However, with the angle markings it could be off a bender of some sort such as a tubing bender.
