Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I saw this listed for sale (pic only no description) and thought I would turn to y'all for help. Looks like a fender to me but I'm not a fender guy so I have no idea...

Looks cool tho. I might go check it out tomorrow.

Any help is appreciated

Yeah thought it was a jazz master at first but realized it was wrong. Are teiscos any good? I've never played one.

Teisco, Winston, Kent, no Fender.
Most of these were junk, but it possible that this one has been made to play better.
Personally, I'd be interestedly in the pick ups, they may be usable.

Thanks for all the responses. Thanks too to whoever bumped me to the correct forum. I'll probably go take a look at it, because in the same sale there is what appears to be a fender blackface champ amp. I know those were reissued, but I'm pretty sure that was just the tweeds. This looks like mid-late 60's to me.

Just won some $ at a company christmas party, and this looks like a good thing to blow it on :)

Yeah, buy that awful little guitar and then act like you're doing him a favor to take that tasty little amp off the furniture.

Looks like a 60's FujiGen...I only know that because I have an Ibanez JTK-1, which was inspired by that guitar.

Lions & Tigers oh Mi !
.

Playability will come down to does the truss rod work and getting a fret level done on it.

Some people buy those guitars just to pull the pickups and put in their Tele for a 'Cooder Caster'. Others just sell the pickups for more than they buy the guitar for.

The Ibanez Jet King was a reboot of the 60's Japanese guitars with more modern features, like coil-splitting and excellent necks. They didn't make these for very long, but they're great guitars. Mine is going in for a rewiring soon. I like it precisely because it doesn't look like a Fender or a Gibson!

Just to update: It was a Sterling branded guitar, which I think was made by Teisco back in the day. The plate on the back of the neck just said "made in Japan." The seller was dreaming at $250, and the champ amp was in OK shape but needed new caps, etc. Also not worth the $450 they were asking for it. For me, anyway... Some cool old budget guitars there, but everything priced way too high and no budging on price so I let it go.
