    .357 Magnum---ouch
    5"/54 Naval gun---shakes the ribcage
F14 on the deck, supersonic throwing a rooster tail---you expect it...then boom boom!

I watched one of those also down at Camp Pendleton. Threw up a bit of dust too!

All the really loud things are well in the past so it's hard to compare, but the "cannon" blasts from AC/DC's For Those About To Rock.... Up close and personal (left side about 3 rows back from the stage) rank right up there.

No one believes this except those that were there, but Flock of Seagulls in Nashville in 1982. Louder than any rock or metal show that I've seen since, and I've seen quite a few. Horrifically loud, like sticking your head in a tornado siren. You could see the racks and racks of Crowns, hitting their clip lights on every beat. FOH guy was a psycho.

I've been to hundreds of loud concerts and none compared to a top fuel dragster.

The biggest difference is at concerts, the spectators aren't ALL covering their ears.

It would have to be a 1/4lb block of C4 being detonated in a sandbag bunker about 6 feet from me(I was crawling at the time).

I was in a small garage with some guys tuning up a car they raced in the quarter mile. I don't think it had street legal mufflers installed, if at all.

LOL, I'd forgot how loud that was. I was on the flight line at the Oshkosh EAA airshow back in the 70s when they brought in the first Harrier in to demo. I was 15 or 16 and was filming (Super 8 camera). The pilot jinked over a few feet to line up directly opposite me in hover. He nodded and then spun it 180...went into full vertical departure. No hearing protection, of course. It was quite some time before I could hear anything.

I was buzzed by an Alabama National Guard F4 Phantom when I was fishing out on Lake Guntersville, AL...and he popped his afterburner right over my head. Actually blew my hat off. Went max climb and rocked his wings as he clawed for heaven. The memory still makes me smile.

I was a festival around 2006ish I think and saw High On Fire when Joe Preston was playing bass with them. That band was the loudest thing I've ever heard and it was just the three guys.
