I find graphics very frustrating if I have a particular sound in mind, like trying to get a single coil pickup to sound like a humbucker, or trying to get my 5e3 (only amp) to sound more like a black face. The parametric lets me hunt the center freq by ear, then set the boost/cut and width.

Plus, if you get a parametric that has more bands, 3,4,5,6 you can begin to use it as if it were a 3-6 band graphic EQ, but with the Parametric, you have the option to tune the frequency of each band, AND the width of each band, you're not stuck with whatever the factory decided to use on the bands.

Source Audio Programmable EQ. I use one preset to thicken my distortion tone for a few songs, and another to take the edge off of my G&L with MFD pickups. It has a bonus feature: you can make it auto-cycle through your four presets (and control the speed) to create a very unique modulation type effect. I use that for a couple of songs too.

I use the Behringer Graphic EQ. Inexpensive but definitely not cheap. it does exactly what I want it to do. I increase the mids to cut through my three guitar band (that plus playing a Tele means I REALLY stand out) and it also gives a great volume boost.

I also have the Behringer EQ700...$20 brand new from Walmart. It's fine and probably just electronically a copy of the Boss GE-7. The mechanical construction is pretty wimpy, and if I was touring with Linda Ronstadt I wouldn't count on it. But it's an EQ so I'm not doing a lot of stomping on/off with it on the stage. Actually I keep it on top of my amp so I can adjust the sliders easily.

I am glad I am not the only one that appreciates this cheap little pedal...

I always get Option Paralysis with EQ pedals. Amazing tools, no doubt, but I don't think I could ever settle on which one to get, where to put it in the chain, or both.

++Behringer EQ700. I was frustrated with the thin sound I was getting with my Teles plugged straight in to my VR. This EQ Pedal fattened it right up very nicely.

I don't use an EQ pedal. My single-knob Tone control amps utilize a high-pass/low-pass design that's independent of the Volume control, and my three-knob tone stack amps use a middle drive control. A couple of them have channel-switching from vintage single-knob to high gain two- or three-knob tone stacks.

That, along with my Tele's vintage-like tone control and seven pickup combinations, give me all the flexibility I need.

+1 although I tend to accentuate the the lower end of the mid spectrum. My original GE7 is still working after over 30 years. I once bought an RC Booster, thinking it would be a better clean boost. I returned it.

I’ve tried a bunch of boosters too - and always return to the GE7. Yeah - I boost 800 a tiny bit, I guess. And the top band (~6k I think?) for a bit more presence - not so much the high mids now that I think of it.
