What Have You Narrowly Avoided Buying Guitar-Related In The Past 48 Hours?

A couple days ago a Fender Deluxe Molded Strat/Tele case showed up on Amazon in "Used-Like New" condition for $180. Since I don't, strictly speaking, own a case for my 4-month-old Player Telecaster it was tempting. I've admired them in the store but they're $229 and I don't actually have any NEED for one.

I have a really nice, roomy, heavily padded generic gig bag that I use for any of my guitars if I take them out of the house but otherwise the Tele just sits out ready to play or hangs on a wall hanger. Basically, a hard case would be an expensive bit of clutter in my music room about 99.9% of the time but might come in handy once in a blue moon.

Fortunately like all good Amazon Warehouse deals, it disappeared yesterday. They're back up to list price for brand new case. Temptation avoided. Whew, that was a close call!

Hi.

Not sure how narrow my avoidance was, but a fuzz and a pedal board.

Pretty sure I will get the fuzz eventually. Even running a gain stage or two afterwards as sonic support the other day, my current Fuzz Face clone wasn’t cutting it. As in, it wasn’t cutting through. I *think* the one I have my eye on might work, as it has an intriguing ’smooth’ knob that shifts the tonal balance.

I do not own a bass amp because I only play my bass DI for recording. I strongly considered getting an Ampeg Rocket but I realized it wasn‘t necessary.
I am on the cusp of getting the Neural DSP Tone King plug in.

I did the opposite; I sold my Epiphone Valve Jr Amp head and external cabinet yesterday. 2023 is the year of consolidation for me. I also sold 3 guitars in the last few weeks.

I saw a demo of Andy (ProGuitar Workshop) doing a demo of the Earthquaker Levitation pedal and immediately did a search for one on Reverb. Somehow I was able to not buy one.

Same Here! I've recently sold 5 guitars and a bunch of pedals and listed another 4 plus 20-something stompboxes, yeey! :)

A danelectro six string bass. Narrowly. Self imposed waiting period. But that might change in the next 48 hours.

For some reason I'm stalking Marshall Origin 20s.
Maybe I should just play one next time I'm in the big city.

Sold a guitar to a semi local shop yesterday and darn near gave most of the money back for a Classic 60s Strat. Came to my senses and hit the door running.

Saw a blues show last night and among the several guitars the guy played was an Epiphone LP Special with P90s in TV yellow. It sounded great. Come to find out they're only $450 new. Shoot, I have a credit with Sweetwater worth about half that already. I don't have a P90 guitar at the moment.. I think I see a need. Wait a minute, I'm trying to sell a bunch of stuff right now, let me get rid of all that first.

D 28. I was sure I needed a D size Martin. Now I’m trying to decide whether my next purchase needs to be a J 45 or J 50. I’m going to play a lot of acoustics the next few weeks!
