Hi.

Fender Hammertone Space Delay.

Hmm, might NPD that. [some time later] Oh, I forgot to hit post. So, the NPD turned up first. Doh...

Up until yesterday it hadn't cost me any money but I'd burned through quite a few brain cells trying to learn a Brazilian tune by ear from a recording I liked. Finally broke down and gave Amazon 20 bucks for a sheet music book that includes this tune.

Don't know why I simply can not listen to the darned thing and play the right notes. Maybe it's because the singers I'm listening to like to slide around and sneak up on each note instead of just singing the tune...

Bought a 2014 Les Paul Studio over the weekend. Pretty good deal on it, given the obnoxiously high prices sellers are expecting currently.

I had to sell quite a bit of gear for the cash. Not a loss, though, as much of my gear is ill gotten gains. Still, I was hoping GC would do better on a couple big ticket items. Oh well. Still beats having to wait to sell individual items to randos. Big stuff wasn't selling anyway.

Over the last few years I've lucked into several old tube amps in need of repair, for very cheap. I was able to fix them and flip them, either for cash or trade up for something else bigger and better. Quite a streak I had going. Finally tapped out on this purchase, though. It was worth it, as it's been a goal all along. Eyes on the prize, and all.

Whoever set it up last did an amazing job. Not a huge fan of the EMGs, though, but they do their job fine. I had to tighten up the sensor pots a bit, as they don't really fit very well. All good now, though.

Boss OC-5 Octave pedal. I’m not sure I like it, though, so it might go back to GC from whence it came. Octave pedals seem a lot more cool/useful than they actually are in practice. Parallel octaves get old in a hurry.

When I hear a sound and think, “I need an octave pedal” I suspect what I’m really hearing is the octave part of a shimmer reverb. It adds that high, floaty, tinkley sound without the tedious parallel octaves. Maybe I’ll try out an EHX Oceans 11 reverb instead.

But if I had half a brain, I’d just leave well enough alone and enjoy the 8 effects I have on my board now.

Yeah, totally. Any sensible person ought to be able to just about make do with 8 pedals. Or if not, then certainly with 10 or 12. Unless you need a pedal you don't have, then you've got no choice.

Tradition MTL600H at lunchtime. Korean 2003. Absolutely mint condition, plastic is still on the truss rod cover.

I just ordered a Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face Mini and realized that makes nine pedals between my Telecaster and my amp. Nine!

Gulp.

That's just out of control. The only upside is it looks like maybe I can get rid of one pedal (7th of the 9, if anyone were keeping count) because I'm about the 151,306th guitar player to discover I have no earthly need for a compressor and wouldn't know how to use it if I did.

You need a pedal loop switcher so you can control the path between the guitar and amp.

I just ordered this from Sweetwater. It is due here on Friday.

It will complement my Origin 50 and kit built Plexi.

Used TC Sub N Up Mini from Reverb. Should be here tomorrow.

Does a ticket to see Adrian Belew and Jerry Harrison "remain In Light" Tuesday night count?

Day before yesterday, wife wanted to hit the pawnshops in search of earrings. At one shop, spotted an OM size hardshell case for $59. I got it for $50 out the door and my Taylor Big Baby resides in it now. Next stop i noticed a Fender Blues Junior III priced at $399. I didn’t need it but bought it anyway. $350 out the door.

I already detailed the purchase of a new guitar on Saturday (a PRS SE Standard in blue). But also, I purchased PRS SE locking tuners for it, and 2 new knobs from Forney Custom on reverb: two blue knobs for volume and tone and a tele-style switch, all 3 anodized aluminum. The switch matches the knobs, which is why I got it. The knobs have an indent in them so it should make pulling the coil-split tone pot a bit easier.
