    Wait, what?
Do you mean the TDPRI mobile app will no longer be supported?

Nobody uses an "app" on anything other than a mobile device, right?
The only "mobile version" that exists and works is the Tapatalk app.
When you say "please use the mobile version when browsing the site on your smartphone or tablet", what mobile version of what are you referring to?

Are there non-"mobile versions" of any apps?

If you meant the TDPRI app will no longer be supported, then you are saying we should use the Tapatalk app, right?

Sadly almost nobody enjoys the TDPRI via the Tapatalk app.
Might be tough luck for members, but losing experienced members who answer questions might make the TDPRI a less valuable investment, if new members have as much luck with a google search as asking for help here.

We here are not sure if the new owners know what's happening here.

But thanks for checking in with some info!

    @telemnemonics

The new owners are the ones doing this. They think having a web site that automatically formats for use in a mobile browser obviates the need for an app.

And, it’s cheaper to not have to develop multiple apps. Just code for mobile browsers and you’re done.

I don’t know what people don’t get here. The TDPRI app is dead. The non-TDPRI-branded Tapatalk app is still an option, but it sucks. The admins want you to just use a mobile browser and be grateful they haven’t killed the site altogether (yet).

Or, you can wait another week for another non-answer.

And you thanked the non-answerer for the non-answer? Why not just bend over and say...

Thank you, sir! May I have another?

Nope. Neither will work (shortly, I guess) so you will have to use the mobile site on Chrome, FF, Safari...whatever.

OK so what is "the mobile version" that @Alex suggested we use on mobile devices.
And what is "the mobile site" you refer to?

Is there another TDPRI just for mobile devices, AKA "the mobile version" or "the mobile site"?

Or does @Alex mean browser when he says app?
It seems cumbersome and inaccurate to say "use the mobile version when browsing the site", when meaning "use your browser".

If the Tapatalk app will soon stop working, there could be two reasons I can think of:
    1) The TDPRI site get improvements!
    2) The TDPRI owners revoke the Tapatalk app license.

Yeah, maybe trying to be nice isn't always the most effective approach, but is there any effective approach at this point?

Is this a move to force phone browser use to gain ad revenue?

Since the TDPRI app does not work I only have access to this site 2 or 3 days a week at most. I used to use the app on all the other days.
I used to be jonesin' when I didn't have access to TDPRI but now I am used to being on here less and less now... maybe that's the goal.

    I miss Paul Green.

Yup, it's "use your browser". The mobile version/mobile site is just the regular site formatted to fit on your phone better. The layout is slightly different but it works the same way.

No app and no TT mean no extra outlay which means more money saved. Web/mobile site means more ads which means more money. Sell ad-free or 'supporter' packages means more money.

    So odd
First, my iphone app does not work, but my tablet app does.
Second, my tablet stopped working, deleted my phone app, reinstalled and it worked.
Third, my new phone app stopped working.
    just odd

I guess I have to break out the pc whenever I go until they get tapatalk fixed.

Of course, the funniest part is that the announcements and links for the apps are right above this thread at the top of the forum.

They can’t even be bothered to delete those posts. How much more proof do you need that this place is doomed?

I think the new owner's plan is to ignore awkward questions, tough it out and hope that the moaning and disquiet eventually dies down and that the good ship TDPRI re-rights itself and sails on.

Which it probably will, but without many of the experienced crew.

Who knows? Apart from 'Alex' no-one from management is saying anything.

It's like they're making it up as they go along.

No, it’s like they’re saying “Hah! You’re not important enough for us to respond to. Screw you!”

    Oh, wait — That’s exactly what they’re saying , isn’t it?

    Are you drunk?

The app is gone. Dead. Buried. Kaput. Never to return. An historical relic. A thing of the past. A memory...

It’s not coming back and it will never be in the App Store.

They’ve killed it. They’re not working on it. The have no interest in it.

    It’s gone. Period.

    Does that clear things up?

    Sorry for the confusion, guys.

What I was trying to say is to use your web browser on your smartphone or tablet, then it should redirect you to the mobile version of the site.

218868EA-1B54-4195-BE8D-4C0AE215BDE2.png I’m getting an error message saying, “INVALID LICENSE This forum is not available on this app. Please contact the forum administrator.”
Im using an iPhone 6s, if that matters... any ideas? I already deleted The TDPRI app, went to the iTunes Store and reloaded the app from there to no change....

    Thanks in advance!

I hope this gets resolved soon. I can visibly see less traffic in The Stomp Box. Threads from days ago have no new post. Please post an announcement and let us in on the issues. We will do better with more information, not less. There are plenty of clever folks in our ranks, if there is a need, I’m sure the loyal and faithful we leap into action to help our beloved TDPRI.

No need to do that. I got the same thing for the first time ever on my Android phone yesterday. I just waited about 20 minutes and I tried again with success. But like I said that was the first time ever for me but I know others have been having some issues. Not sure why it happened but it went away fast.
