Same issue as others. Is there an official response?

If you enjoy irony, check this out from the front page of the Enthused Digital Web page:

"Enthused Digital understands the passion that has been poured into your community website. At Enthused, we are passionate about healthy, well-run online communities."

    "...healthy, well-run online communities"?

Would anybody characterize what's been happening around here lately in that way?

    Bueller? Bueller?

I'm just asking what others are doing/ getting.

We have this odd thing where certain individuals admonish those who are having trouble with the changes, so maybe they know something the rest of us don't?

And I'm also wondering if -whoever the new owners are- they have a scenario where the TDPRI works great, and we just haven't found it.
Or if everybody, even the paying members, are so inundated with advertising and other hassles that the TDPRI pretty much sucks for everybody in its present configuration.

I've done home renovation where the homeowner insisted on living in the construction site.
I've suggested that the cost of renting a place for a few months would be recouped in the savings achieved in not having to keep moving stuff back and forth, or cover stuff and block off rooms from dust and noise.
Are we still in a construction site here?
Or is this the finished renovation and the crew has left the building?

Yeah right below the line that says in all capitals "TURNING PASSION INTO PROFIT"

We have to consider that maybe we are being strongly encouraged to start paying for our right to provide free content, if we want an enjoyable interface.

Where greed is concerned, nothing will ever suffice.

Feel free to quote me on that!

Nary an ad to be found using the website on mobile.

I used to use TapaTalk way back when, then it got social, bloated and unusable. I did get the pro version and was still getting ads. Umm. No. Around that same time-ish the other forums that I frequent stopped using TT, they only had their app. I'm not much for apps really, the mobile sites are usually just fine. When I could access multiple forums with one app it was fine but when it went to only one I stopped using it.

edit: Not sure what I'll do when my ad-free runs out.

So you go to the website on a mobile browser rather than using one of the forum apps?
And because you paid for ad free membership, there are no ads when you visit in your mobile device's browser?

Have you tried the Tapatalk app on your mobile device recently?
I'm wondering if the Tapatalk app, which is not a TDPRI product, might not be ad free even though you are an ad free TDPRI member?

Seems like TDPRI and Tapatalk both sell ad space?

On my laptop I use adblock and have good ad free function.
Plenty of other websites refuse to allow anyone on with adblock enabled, so I guess I should be grateful TDPRI allows me on with adblock running.

I have not tried visiting TDPRI on a mobile browser, so maybe using Firefox with adblock on my ipad will allow me to use TDPRI without every other post being a gif ad, and without popup scammers etc?

Exactly. No ads at all. The mobile browser (I use Chrome on my Android) looks and functions the same, it's just made to fit the screen.
No, I haven't used it in years. I paid for an ad free version and still got ads so signed out and deleted it.

Give it a try, an ad-blocker should work on the mobile site?

So you're saying that as a paid ad free member, you are not ad free in the Tapatalk app?

They gotta fix this or they will be losing us.
Media sells ads based on the number of users.
If they lose users they lose money.

No, sorry, I wasn't clear. I had a paid 'pro' version of TT, it was supposed to be ad free (for all visited forums) but that was not what was happening all the time, I still got ads. I have no idea what would happen if you were ad free here but not on TT. Not sure if TT would 'read' your no ad status.

Wow, talk about some really crappy communication to your audience. I mean, I know this is all free to us unless we choose to pay for ad free, but jeez. A little heads up announcement that "Hey...we're transitioning to the crapatalk network in Jan of 2019. That means that the app you currently use will no longer work."

With all of the financial focus (flooding of AdSense Ads everywhere) of the new owners, one should expect the mobile app will return as a premium purchase app in both the Google Play and App Stores.

I did the uninstall/reinstall on the tdpri app (iphone) and it seems to be working. I got the “invalid license” error once, but it let me in and hasn’t bothered me since.
Things are back to normal for me (well, the new normal that started a fee weeks ago).

But maybe I’m doing something wrong.
