The reverse slant and under wound pickups give the guitar its magic. I play clean like I did back in the ‘60s. The only thing I changed on the guitar is that I moved the middle pickup to the neck and the neck to the middle. Now I have bridge and neck on a single tone control. This makes the guitar perfect for me. It’s my #1.

I'm not going to argue at all with this the burgundy Mist Stratocaster is beautiful
If I could I would choose that Stratocaster and then a 54 two-tone Sunburst to be the 50s counterpart

This one, I call it the Galleon, it’s a kind of hybrid body somewhere between a Jazzmaster and a Firebird........a jazzbird hah ha! It’s great sounding and I built it recently and after several builds I really think I mailed this one, definitely a keeper

I pretty happy with Taz, my self-assembled partscaster. Like @JL_LI it has a "reverse slant" bridge pickup, as well as a Warmoth conversion scale neck.

Blowtorch, is your Gretsch missing a tone switch?

Or is it the pickup selector toggle that is missing?

Brazilian rosewood MIJ George Harrison with George Harrison looking out from it.

I think the rosewood is one of the most stunning of all the Telecasters, or guitars in general. And the Brazilian rosewood has a deeper rosewoodiness to it than the Asian woods they use today.

(This is the one I'm trying to get back to the original black pickguard)

I haven't owned as many strats as @Jakedog but the one I have now is a keeper.

I'm not as cool as you guys.

I only buy cool guitars, but I have to admit they are pretty generic examples. Epi LP Standard gold top, ESP 400 57 Strat clone, partscaster esquire, partscaster blackguard Tele. Great players all.

The really cool part is the average cost, about $400 each.

Well your opinion may differ but I'm pretty sure that I have the coolest 2017 but actually 2016 model Gibson ES335 Figured Thin Neck in Cherry, maybe there is another cool one in Natural or Sunburst but when we talk about cherry, mine's the one ;)

Just look at that flame, the RS fretboard is dark as ebony, the sound OMG!, its resonant as hell, it light weight, plays great, its versatile... its perfect.

Before Tom Holmes became famous for his pickups he made guitars. He did custom builds for Billy Gibbons, Bo Diddley , Albert King , Jeff Beck and Howard Leese (Heart) to name a few.
I purchased this guitar new in 1978. Serial number 1.

Bob Logan made this one. It is one of kind. I don't ordinarily name guitars, but this one suggested itself. Root Beer.

Apparently, Bob liked that name so much he built a somewhat similar, but pales-by-comparison version. He calls it's "Root Beer's Older Brother", even though it was built later.

No, it's not a copy of Prince's; it is one of a kind. Tuned to open D, it blows minds.
