Telecaster with a leopard skinned pickguard? No way, it should be regular cowskin then...I had a Bad Cat amp once all in Tolex cowskin for real. Looked the part in any country band. The Gretschen goes down with me.

    I give you, “The Warhorse”.

This is a signature model. I have no idea who the guy is. It’s had the headstock broken, but the repair is so clean I didn’t see it until I’d owned it for a while. The nut is a mess, I improvised it from a precut blank during a break during a gig when the old one had a blow out. No proper tools. Used the singer’s nail files from her purse and the wound strings to cut the slots. It works so I haven’t changed it.

I got the graph tech saddles because it’s what my local GC had in stock. After the first summer I had it I had done so many shows outside on the the water, sweating like a pig, that the stock saddles had rusted and corroded into a single unadjustable mass. I had to cut them off with a dremel.

When I got it it had an EMG pickup set in it. I tried really hard but I couldn’t live with them. Now it’s got a DiMarzio Air Norton neck and a DiMarzio PAF Pro bridge. The high E string kept getting hung up under the bobbin on the neck pickup when I really brought the thunder, so I put on the cut out pickup cover.

Oh, it’s a mahogany body, with a chunky set in mahogany neck, a maple top, and an ebony fretboard. It is solid. Not chambered. It weighs just under 6 lbs.

It makes good guitar noises. It makes snobs turn up their noses. If it walked off at a dive bar gig or got caught in the rain at a lake side show, it really wouldn’t be the end of the world.

I am confident in my assessment that this is the coolest LTD JD-600 on the planet.

Edit: it has a strat knob because the original one was a nice chunky metal one, but it fell off and rolled away at an outdoor gig and I couldn’t find it in the dark. I had the strat knob in my toolbox.

I don't know about "cool" but with the possible exception of the Fretwire Mosrite JR style, they're pretty unique.

760612DD-D20B-4081-AC09-4E02581204DA.jpeg The guitar is cool but the story behind it is even cooler. I won this ‘69 Stratocaster at the last stop on the Fender Custom Shop Road Show in 2019, the last road show before the shut down. Will there be a road show this year? IDK but the showroom at The Music Zoo is still closed.

Nothing cooler than dark rosewood, white and white on a strat.

I've owned several Strats over the years, but this one really does it for me. She checks all the Hendrix/SRV/Trower/Blackmore boxes.

Of all the 7-string, P90-equipped, 24-fret Esquires out there..... this one is the coolest. Says me. Your opinion may differ, but I'm right.

Jon donis (don’t know if I spelt the last name right) was in a screamy metal band that was around in the early 2000’s called “shadows falls” he was originally with Washburn

They were a “lamb of god” type band

I’m pretty confident that my 65 reissue strat is about as perfect of an example made

Maybe just because I own it?

1984 G&L SC-3. Hardtail. Sunburst. Solid figured maple body. OHSC.

This combination is rare. Most SC-3s had vibratos, and sunburst was only used if the wood happened to be figured. There were only 24 made like this, over a period of a couple of years.

I've got two of 'em! :D

I’ve had hundreds of strats (for real), but I’m pretty confident that if I ever find the “perfect” one it will be Burgandy Mist. So you may be right.
