The weekend is here.
What guitar has worked its way to the front of the pack in your home?

Me... I was deep into Drop Tunings and stuff all winter. Drop B tuning, etc. One day I just got bored with it.
Didn't play for awhile. Which is not normal. Unless life has really kicked the stuffing outta me.

I dug out some Strats.
Found my 90s MIM.
It's always has a gnarly bite to it.

Plugged it in and realized that I REALLY missed playing a Strat.
Had a few great weeks of playing so far. So much so that I'm thinkin' maybe I'll just stick with Strats for good.

What about you folks?

The Ibanez Artist and Les Paul, for fun.
The black Cabronita, for work.
The old avatar critter is my backup.
The Artist is a joy to play and sounds great.
I still haven’t gigged with it yet.

I finished my DPP 335 after three years of futzing with it, made my demo video, and basically just popped it into a gig bag for almost three MORE years, but recently I have started recording little tunes on GarageBand and I dug it out and have been using it for the last three-four days.

Just happened to post this recently in another thread--a modest, MIJ fairly recent production telemaster(?), which I think I got new around 2018.

This old thing. A 1974/55 Special
I’m slowly getting this back to its original stature. P90s and original wiring.
This guitar is real pleasure to play. Unfortunately my tele has taken a backseat to this one. That’s been almost 8 years now.
Im digging these.

My partscaster build which I finally finished. I bought a Warmoth neck and body almost 2 years ago, but didn’t have time until recently to put everything together.

This is my first Tele style guitar and I’m digging it! Working on small tweaks to finish it off.

Guitar’s a home recording endeavor for me these days, and I play this 2004-ish Squier Bullet Special. It’s mostly all I’ve played for several years and It feels like home. I was noticing the other day that I have reached the point of unconsciously altering where and how I pick and mute to vary my tone since it has the single pickup. That made me feel good.

Now that band practice (where I play bass) has resumed, I have assigned my Dean Demonator 4 Metalman Craigslist rescue bass to stay at the practice space so I can play it and get used to it. So far so good; my normal Squier P is punchier in the mids but this one has deeper, cleaner lows and a pleasantly warm, round top end, and a pretty dang nice fretboard feel for a weird-shaped lower-tier instrument.
The passive wiring conversion worked well with these stock humbuckers and it’s not as neck divey as it looks like it would be. It’s a bit more of a reach than the P but I’m getting used to it. The D’Addario chrome flats suit it well. And I pulled my old DiMarzio cliplock strap out of mothballs and installed it, because rock, man!

Also, Creepiest self-amusing photo crop I’ve done all week.

As always, the most home play goes to my '93 Martin D-1. ( 29 years of gigs and jams- now sort of retired from gigs)

- electric gig fun (.lately) going to a new Squier Tele Thinline- love it!
