rossington used marshalls on skynyrds first 3 albums. not peaveys. after that it was all peaveys. so kinda depends on which songs you wanna sound like. even the peaveys they had were modified to sound more like the marshalls thay had.

I saw Skynyrd about three weeks ago (great show, BTW). They were using mostly Peavey Penta amps, but Ricky Medlock was using a couple of Wizard heads.

What about the Gary Rossington Penta? It's 140 watts, but you could pull the two inner tubes and drop it to 70 watts.

I replaced all of mine with Fender knobs. Not a perfect fit but they work well.

I don't know what it is about Peavey knobs. Everything else on them is biult like a tank, but I think every PV I've owned wound up with at least one knob gone or broken off at the stem.

I have an update on the tubes.

These ARE EL34s, so the ports had to be rewired. Also, the guy says the amp has a very bad clean sound and a fuzzy sound. Is this due to the El34s in an 6L6 amp or could it be mods?

BTW, here are some new pics. Maybe you guys could tell if its circuitry has been modded?

Was that Funochio's? The place where Al Kooper first saw them?
