So, if thDPRI contest and the winner is the one who lives closest to the South Pole do you win?

I hope so. But I got a feeling I saw a post on TDPRI from a guy located at McMurdo Base on the ice shelf so that guy would probably win. What's the prize?

A three mitten set. Two of them are for your hands. What size do you need?

I like old, creaky horror, suspense, and detective movies from the thirties and forties.

There were two Doctor X movies, the 1932 "Doctor X" with Lionel Atwill and a screaming Fay Wray, and the 1939 "Return of Doctor X", with believe it or not Humphry Bogart as the monster/bad guy.

They were more or less unrelated. The first one is excellent, and one of the first color movies made, the second is black and white and just ok. You have to see it though, just to see Bogey embarrass himself.

I couldn't think of anything, so I used the name of the cars engine in my avatar.

    It's a '51 Merc flathead, a nigh performance V8 with about 120 HP.

Easiest engine to work on though. The plugs are right on top of the heads, the oil filter is in the canister right behind the carb, and the distributor is in front of the engine.

It's the name of my band. When I joined TDPRI in 2008 the band was imaginary, but we have a gig next week. Yes, I lurked for years, soaking up the collective wisdom, before finally posting this year.
    Hello, my name is John.

It's both a play on my name and what I'm surrounded by.

There used to be a commercial: Is it live or is it Memorex? Since I hadn't played live anywhere since about 1996, I said to myself, I must be memorex.

But that's about about to change. I've been practicing with several members of the company where I work plus two. We're doing a Dead cover band, and I'm the Jerry. My boss, the CIO, is the Bob, the network admin is the Kreutzmann, and the president of the company is the keyboard player, God help him (if you know the Dead history). Our first gig is in May.
