Well, mnemonics is/ are some sort of tools for getting back, accessing or storing memory.
I cannot explain much of anything about playing music, never took lessons, can't read or write music, and if you tell me what to play I probably won't understand.
But when I get ahold of my Tele suddenly I know what to do pretty much no matter what the musical context.

So my Tele is my mnemonic.

In '78, I started a blues program on the local station, so I needed a radio name. The Blues Brothers movie had just come out, and they introduced their sax player, Lou Marini, as "Blue Lou". I thought it sounded cool, so I started calling myself Blue Bill. Plus it has the initials, "BB", a tribute to the King.

Mine is short hand for reconnaissance aircraft. It also sounds like my real first name.

Well that's much cooler than I has guessed, I was figuring you must live this side of Mt Desert Island in Blue Hill.
Funny how the mind (mine at least) just puts things together automatically, wrong or right.
Like I just knew that was Retro Tele Rod in @RetroTeleRod 's avatar.
    Isn't it obvious?

I think in '78 there were still a few people that called me "Bones".
    Not using that one...
Later I was called Jammin, which was a little better.

Big Bend National Park is in far West Texas, along the Rio Grande River, inside the Chihuahuan Desert. It has the amazing Chisos Mountains where I love to go backpacking, river rafting through majestic canyons, wonderful desert hikes and so much more. Big Bend is, by far, my most favorite place on earth. I usually drive the 660 miles West from Houston each year and camp for 8 or 9 nights straight. Always a treat to visit Big Bend.... and fortunately, not many other people go there. Its my little secret.

[IMG]Me backpacking, keeps me young, heading on another 15 miles hike up to the South Rim in the Chisos.

Sunrise on the South Rim, waking up before sunrise after backpacking up to the rim the day before.

My two sons. That is Mexico right there across the Rio Grande.

I love Big Bend National Park, I have visited over 35 times in my life, my ashes will be buried someday out there, and the name Big Bend has been my name on all kinds of forums long before I finally found TDPRI. :) Its who I am...

Mine was supposed to mean "Tele em' all" or "Tell em all" meaning let the guitar do the talking.Instead it appears like a shopping center for telecasters, like "Tele Mall"...wasn't my intention.I also should've put more thought into it

Your first name is Grape Jam?

Also, in '78, the name "Bones" puts certain things together automatically. ;)

Eric Dolphy stated that once you make (the) music, it's gone forever.
Course, the tape was running so we know he said it, which makes it all the more ironic; or not.

I grew up amongst all sorts of artists and knew for sure I didn't want to be one.
They keep making stuff they have to sell or give away and all that stuff piles up.
Making music we don't really have that problem.
    Well...

Mine means that several people back in the day (early 70s) thought I looked like, acted like (and probably smelled like) a bigbean.

Also a it's a play on BB another sort of more generic guitar player nickname.

By the way I hope that my gratuitous and incorrect use of parenthesis ..... non standard punctuation- n stuff makes the OCD grammar police type readers,, grit their teeth and pound their puny fists on the table .....but not smack their heads on the floor or anything.
