^Oh.... I'd be glad to open one of those beers and hope it got all over her. Then I could offer to help her change clothes and maybe we could ride 'em on down:cool:

Two bits is 25 cents.

There's the old Spanish silver coin, the Dutch term for which was the "Thaler", and it was also called "Pieces of Eight". Sometimes the traders who cut the coin into halves, then quarters, then eighths for fractional coinage.

Two "bits" of these eighth pieces would be one quarter.

The Spanish coin was more similar to the original USA Dollar coin, which has as its closest relative the "Trade Dollar". The typical Morgan or Peace Dollar is actually a little shy - not the full size/weight of the original coin.
Yep, got that.
4 bits is 50 cents.
Thanks.

Doo wah diddy is just a meaningless exuberance like 'a wop bop a loo bop'

I understand 'ride em on down' to be some cattle herding cowboy thing: suspect it is about being forceful in controlling animals

Might use it more in everyday life now I thought that

It's from a Ry cooder song.

Put on your night shirt and your morning gown
You know by night I'm gonna shake 'em down
