You don't need more amps... You need more Swamp Thangs.

How is a 22 watt amp "a bit much" compared to a 100 watt amp?
I agree, the Deluxe Reverb patch on the Mustang is the best patch on that amp. I just left it there. The reverb on the Mustang is severely under-rated as well.
A 100 watt Deluxe Reverb? Yes, thank you.
And don't forget to tweak the "sag" and "bias" parameters. Why, they make it almost sound like a real amp! ;)

Blackstar HT1 is my perfect home tube amp. One you can actually turn up to decent volume and get the tubes breaking up. ISF covers USA to UK sounds, and two channels. Take pedals really well.
If I could only have one amp at home it would be this

I have a Marshall 2525H 20 watt mini Silver Jubilee head that I run into a 2x12 cab loaded with Vintage 30s...it has an excellent clean channel, and the OD channel goes from classic AC/DC, Zep, Aerosmith all the way through 80s high gain. Add the dirt pedal of your choice and it's as heavy as can be. It has a nice effects loop as well, and has 20 watt and 5 watt modes. With my Les Paul I can get an endless variety of tones using the pickup selector and the vol and tone knobs on the guitar.

Are you really that versatile of a player?
I need a cleanish tone, a stonesy tone and a led zep/ aerosmith tone.
I can get those with any mastervol amp. Especially at home.
What more do you need? Pat metheny jazz? Brad paisley country? Some heavy current guy i dont know the name of?
Versatile is a fantasy that says i want to play everything when the dreamer really cant play anything.

Sweet sound, loud or quiet, reverb, break up, deep bass, and you can do all that bone stock.
Buy one, play it 10 years and sell it for what you paid or very close to it.

For my needs (at home use most of the time) any one of these three amps and a few pedals can provide all of the versatility that I need to play the music that I like.

Plus these amps can easily hold-up in a band situation, which is still a need for me. For my needs 22 - 35 watts is perfect.

I have quite a few "home wattage amps" under 15 watts. Tweed champ and 5e3, princeton reverb w/greenback, class 5 marshall w/greenback, 007 bassbreaker, pro jr, and a budda twinmaster-and have had many others. With the years and hours of playing these- I would say the princeton reverb RI would be the best all around choice for a single home amp. It is not my favorite, so to speak, as I usually use other amps to jam or perform-but it is my living room amp- and is beyond flexible and has a beautiful tone- and great overdrive. The reverb and trem are world class-and with pedals the harmonic content is very inspiring. The greenback speaker rolls off a little volume and I find it well balanced to the circuit.

Great little amp if it doesn't break down. Mine died one month before the warranty. Got it fixed, then died again 6 months later. Now it sits. Not worth fixing if it continues to break down.
