Having recently retired just before my 60th I feel that a majority of the posts I read are written by folks my age or older. That may be due the fact some of us have more time on our hands as a result of being of more advanced years. On the other hand it may have something to do with the threads I read. If it relates to a band I have never heard of I'm unlikely to open it, which could skew my impression of the membership.

    I don't have a scientific interest.
I just wanted to see what the "faithful" thought.

I think we're about average, Mr. Brookdale, sir.

Wow, this place must be even stranger than I thought...

Growing older is compulsory, growing up isn't.

They ran a poll once not so long ago on this and it came out that most members were 50+.

I've wondered this, too. My guess is mid- to late 50s, say 56. And climbing.

    64 here.

It's not the age but the mileage that counts...Think I put the most mileage on in the 1st half!

I would guess 52. Just old enough to have lived the life of a bloozeman in every juke joint and road house in the Mississippi Delta while avoiding all pop music yet young enough to have given up being a "road dog" to get into a career in IT, dentistry or law.

I’m pretty sure the average age trends gray here, just because of the degree of civility compared to other forums. But @PiggyStu made a great point regarding the threads one chooses to read possibly skewing one’s perception.

In any event, if the average age IS kinda up there, then the old adage about music keeping you young must be true, ‘cuz most everyone here has a pretty youthful attitude.

I'm 57 and think I'm fairly close to average. Maybe a little over but not by much
