If it's not too late, the OP should add an age group poll.
It all depends, but you gotta figure it falls a few pills short of the Vi*gra line
Average age here? About 75, maybe a couple years older? [emoji56]
Old enough to have seen Hendrix, young enough to still be gigging.......
What Do You Suppose Is Our Average (Member) Age Here?
About the same as average IQ?
Almost 60 here....my best guess would be right around 40.
I think somewhere around 53-55. This truly is a total SWAG* on my part
I'm probably well under half the average age, I might even make a 3rd
I'd say 50 give a year or two. It's almost as if the question should have two parts. The average age of those who are the most active posters and the average age in general. The more active members may skew the age a bit higher. I may be wrong but that's an impression I get at times.
I'd guess 60+ easily. There's a lot of participation by a few folks my age, but I think it skews older. Or, maybe that's who I pay attention to. And @Jakedog but he's my age.
You're only young once, but you can be immature your whole life.
I bet for every regular poster, there are a couple hundred lurker members. At least.
Just going by the regulars, who we can 'see', I bet our community age is 50-55.
But keep in mind that I'm terrible about ages. I went for a whole year in my late 40s, thinking (and saying) I was a year older than I was. When I had my second 47th birthday , I asked my wife why she hadn't said something in all this time . She just smiled. Which was probably the kindest response, given what she was thinking...
I know some people who seem to be driven by the fact that they're aging. The alternative ain't nearly so nice. It don't matter anyway, it's just the body. Emotional age is the important thing, and when I'm hanging with people with whom I have something in common, we're all the same age, far as I'm concerned. Pisses the women off, though, when I'll say things like "well, ya know... OUR age, blah blah..." and they rudely remind me they're only 35. Oh, woops.
I know some people who seem to be driven...
Isn't that why we became musicians. So we'd never have to grow up?
about 6 based on the amount of "I'm telling!!!" that I've seen the last couple of days.
The only thing I know is the correct answer can’t possibly be 37.
For I am anything but average.
yes,a poll would be nice. I'm trying to keep track of all the replies to this question in my head. Can't do it.
Alright! How many of you wear Depends, and how many of you are still snot-nosed brats? Then I’ll work the numbers with my sophisticated computing system.
I think a big part of your perception here is the threads you read. Reading about some guy rebiasing his own amp he built in the 1950s means I get the feeling a load of people are late 60s... or time travelling shape shifting lizards
Maybe if I read a lot of juvenile threads I would think everyone is in their 30s
Reading a lot of the wise philosophers on here makes my own gut feel to be well over 60
I am 68 and feel we never stop learning. I enjoy many types of guitar music. Does music really have a age barrier, no just play different songs. Love of music we all can relate to.
