Well, I certainly fit the "grizzled veteran guitar lovers" profile at 61...

Would that be the best option, or would median or mode age be a better indicator of a community like this?

I'd also be interested in seeing the geographic center of TDPRI...

And maybe an itemized total of how much money we collectively spend on guitar stuff...

Using that data, we could figure out how many tons of scrap metal we generate out of used strings, and how many times we could circumnavigate the earth if we tied all of our used guitar strings together to form a giant rope.

That would average out to about 12-14 years old.

The 20 year old with 1000 posts will have posted mostly nonsense (as have older people with a lot of posts), and the 60 y.o. with 100 posts is probably a nooby noob who complains that he can't play country on his B.C. Rich.

Wait 10 years. If you feel like that at 42, you won't like what's coming. Not one bit.

I felt like a teenager when I was 42. It wasn't until the last 2-3 years that I started feeling the miles suddenly pile up.

I'm 52 for the record and I'm telling you, getting old is not for sissies.

I fully agree.. I figure the 6yrs given to Uncle Sam may have helped advance it by few yrs.

I have often thought that men always have a high percentage of adolescence that remains with them their entire lives.
Sure as we get older, we have more responsibilities, stress of everyday life, work and then there are the "battle scars" we pick up in our relationships etc.
All the same there is that adolescent/teen part of ourselves that won't go away. In fact, I think that folks who lose that sense of teen rebellion and youthful joie de vivre become stuffy old coots.
Plus, every guy, no matter how age has hideously corrupted their physical features, looks at the opposite sex and thinks "she likes me".:p:rolleyes:

Averages can be deceiving, the average human has one breast and one testicle.
What I think the OP wants to know is how many people are in each age group.
The thinking would be that seniors dominate the forum, which I too believe to be correct.
    I was born in 1951, so I’m 34.
    I may have dane bramige.
