I was reading through the thread yesterday and saw a bunch of things that kind of annoyed me, but rose nowhere to the level of hate. So I was feeling kind of smug and thinking, "Man, I've evolved past the hating stage." Then this morning, as I arrived late to work and was struggling to find a parking spot in a jammed multi-level parking garage, I saw a luxury SUV that was parked so crookedly that it took up two spots.

I almost took a photo to post here. Man, I hate those guys.

Are you trying to avoid becoming what you hate?

Because that's what I think usually happens in that situation.

Not to be a killjoy, but this thread reminds me to be mindful of the many things I love and am thankful for--Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I agree with everything you said, except the part about soda in the south. In Alabama, you ask for a soda pop!

Naming guitars, cars and that sort of thing. I know many people do, no offense to them. I call my car "The Challenger", my Hayabusa "The Busa" and my Kawasaki has a name my wife affectionately gave it "The Building" (cause it's big and heavy).
Don't you hate that I shared this, I do.

There's always this, if you're going to be a selfish, insecure, pride filled jerk, it's better to have the consolation prize of being rich, rather than just being a poor jerk.

I hate when they play “Horse With No Name” on the radio.

Hate? That’s pretty strong. Despise? Only off limits topics. Now things that regularly raise my blood pressure but don’t come close to despise...

YouTube guitar and amp demos that ignore clean sounds. In my experience, guitars and amps that don’t sound good clean don’t sound good with distortion either and you can’t possibly tell how a guitar or amp will sound clean from how it sounds distorted. Hearing it live at too high a volume is even worse.

Something that gets under my skin each morning is fools who drive like maniacs because they’re late for work. My morning commute is at the State Police change of shift so there’s little enforcement, exacerbating the problem.

“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”

Do you know what else leads to suffering?

Nothing that America did to deserve it. It’s me. The song bores me to the point where I want to start cutting myself.

Those "stupid" beets are the worst kind of beets. I don't really hate 'em, I just seem to feel better when they're not around.

Those pickled beets are OK, IMO. They're a family tradition, my grandparents used to pickle their own and stockpile the beet jars in their cellar. They had hundreds of jars of weird stuff down there, kind of creepy when you're a kid.

Allergies and the shots I am going to begin taking for the next few years. Supposedly in a year I will have a lot less issues. I am in my 70's and just about the time I will be allergy free, I may die. I hate that.

    Oh and Beets.

I hate to watch those people who dip snuff spit into a bottle, screw the cap back and act as if they had just done something precious.

Maybe you guys aren't making them right.

One thing I do is roast them whole, then peel and chill. Slice them thin in a layered platter with feta, roasted walnuts, fresh basil, red onion, plus vinaigrette.

I don't like the commercial pickled beets. They taste funny.
