    When I would be really suffering in a bicycle race I would sing James Brown's "I Feel Good" to myself in my head. The other trick is to remember that if you're suffering, hopefully the guys around you are suffering more. You're on the road to a high placing if you can make the others suffer enough to fall out of the peloton and get spit out the back. Singing that song in my head often kept me in the pack at those key crunch moments.
