Does the coil still pass electricity? Can the cone still freely move in and out without binding? If yes, I'd take it to my speaker guy for an estimate at least.

Ovation Guitars and a speaker? Did Ovation ever make an amp?

They did make amps. My friend owns own. Solid state thing of some sort. I’m sure that speaker you found was probably made by someone else and branded Ovation.

It was the '70s baby.. check the last page or two

That looks a bit like the Utah's Radio shack sold around the same time, if so not a bad speaker.
There should be a a EIA code on it some where

Looks like Utah to me too, if so the EIA code should have start with 328.
I like the Radio Shack Utahs that were in my SFTR but they made different models, and I'm wierd.

CKDH - that catalog is AMAZING! (unintentionally hilarious)
This weekend I'll try to run a little signal through, to see if there's any value in going further. Not sure if pic shows the cone has been "handled roughly" and surround also has "wear" (grill-cloth is there for a reason, people!)

    Thanks TDPRI folks.
If this comes together, you'll get a credit.
    Peace - Deeve
