I have a Squier CV50 and Fender 72 Deluxe I was wondering what non custom shop Telecaster you would get from the current production?

No hesitation — American Original ‘60s. Absolutely fantastic guitar, IMHO. (Not the sunburst though!)

A red Vintera 50s (non mod) or if you prefer the color choices the road worn version.

With a little more money, I'd look for a used American Vintage.

PS: yes, I like full vintage spec. If that's not your thing, American originals and Vintera mod would be the next best thing in my view

PPS: I realize that American Vintage is not "current production". In my view, however, it's the best recent production guitar that Fender made. And I included it just to raise the question… "why limit yourself to current production"?

Probably a Jimmy Page Mirror Telecaster.

If I didn't have an AV '64 already my choice would be an AO 60's.

That dusky pink colour they call "Burgundy Mist Metallic" looks like it might be really nice in person.

70th Anniversay Broadcaster. Sweetwater currently has them back ordered which keeps money in my account.

I did buy a 70th Anniversary Esquire not long ago. Technically, it's not a telecaster. If I were going to buy a current production I think I'd like to check out a thinline. I'm quite curious about the Magico too.

The Alternate Reality Tenor looks like it could be a lot of fun.

Also would enjoy an American Original ‘70s Telecaster Custom with a maple fingerboard.

American Original 50s, no hesitation. They’re nice.

If we’re talking Fender and actual “Telecasters.” Otherwise a Grosh T would be the move.

I would get a G&L asat special. I prefer them to fender telecasters.

None. The neck radiuses, fretwire and poly finishes are all wrong.

In light of above posts… it's true that there are some current production American Vintage teles!
    - Jimmy Page mirror – basically a '59 Tele RI if you leave the mirrors in the case as you should, beautiful in every way (but the price tag is a bit too much)
    - 70th Anniversary Broadcaster – basically a '52 with some "historic" appointments (and the price tag is a bit too much, as well).

Wonderful both and they'd easily be my pick if money were no object.

AO ‘70s Tele custom. Had an original back in the 70s, but I sucked and never really had a chance to appreciate it.

Agreed — I’m hoping to see one in real life to be able to judge better because it looks a tricky colour to capture well online. But the LPB is great and so is the (discontinued) Fiesta Red.
