I used to play Long Cool Woman a lot in the band I'm still in. I'd mix in the little turnaround lick from King of the Mountain by Southern Culture on the Skids, just for fun. I'd also throw in my best impersonation of a Pete Anderson-esque solo. We'd segueway into Bang a Gong by T-Rex, then come back into Long Cool Woman. Good times.

Currently, I'm working on You're Dead by Norma Tanega to play at a Halloween party. It's the opening song from that silly show What We Do in the Shadows.

I've been doing "Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish in my acoustic sets. It's going over great.

I just picked up Stormy by Dennis Yost & The Classic’s IV.
Yes, I’m that old, and that lounge-ey.
I’m polishing Los Lonely Boy’s More Than Love.
    I’m a rocker, I tell ya’!

I am casually aquianted with them.
I former co-worker (Ish) was their head crew guy.
They’re nice guys, and sing and play together like brothers oughta.
    I love Los Lobos, BTW.
The Lonely Boys ain’t been around nearly long enough to have the, uh, seasoning the Lobos have.
Both bands are made of great stuff, IMO.

We've been diving into Motown! A big shift for us being mostly a Blues Band. It's been a ton of fun though.
    Done:
    My Girl- Temptations
Your Love Keeps Lifting Me- Smokey Robinson
I Only Have Eyes For You- Flamingos

A few of these maybe soon:
Marvin Gaye - What’s Goin On
Martha and the Vandellas – Love is Like a Heatwave
The Temptations – 'Ain't Too Proud to Beg' ...
the Temptations- i know i'm losing you
    Mary Wells - My Guy
Smokey Robinson and the Miracles – 'Tracks of My Tears'
Smokey Robinson & The Miracles - You Really Got A Hold On Me
Four Tops - Reach Out I'll Be There
    Temptations – Get Ready

I Wish It Would Rain would be a great choice for a blues band. The verse is a basic 12 bar blues progression. The chorus just goes 1-4 twice (E,A,E,A, for instance, if you’re playing it in E).

Since I do a solo gig. I've been work up an arraignment of "If You Could Read My Mind". Kind of a passing chords while I sing a verse or two then the guitar plays the central theme and then back to passing chords with different voicing while I sing more verses and finally the coda on guitar.
