I been wanting to do one in Reranch Shell Pink or Coral.
I've been a big fan of ice blue metallic (with parchment or mint accoutrements) lately. Above is a nice example.
I go for Black or White, guess I am boring. I do have a seafoam green surfcaster for a bit of flavor.
I'm my opinion you can never go wrong with a strat if its in white w/mint pickguard, black w/mint pickguard, or dark sunburst w/black pickguard
I love robert Cray's violet strat
Ooh, what is that black one, second from the left?
(.....Monty Python style)
Any color that's NOT sunburst, black, blonde, or white gets my vote. Fender made so many amazing custom colors that are just beautiful. Have no idea why millions of guitarists only buy the sunburst or black ones.
Boooooooooooring. And if I see one more blonde tele, I'm gonna puke.
So are you also opposed to people wearing blue jeans because they're so common? Should brides wear gowns in colors other than white?
Actually, I had two Hamer Daytonas (strats) in the 90's, one sunburst and one surf green, decided to sell one, and sold the sunburst one for exactly the reason that every SRV wannabe at every blues jam was playing a sunburst strat--but most of them had the belt sander treatment on the top (like Kenny Ray Shepherd).
However, I fell in love with an Eric Johnson strat a couple months ago and brought it home...and it is sunburst. There are redeeming values to specific guitars that transcend color. Buy the one that makes you want to play it. I also guarantee you that if I take it to a blues jam, I will not play a SINGLE SRV lick on it. I will sound like me.
I owned a sunburst '62 strat back in 1970 that I sure wish I still owned. And I have some nice acoustic guitars with plain old spruce tops...
Surf green with a cream pickguard and maple neck.
Probably because it is what their heroes played.
Surf Green, Olympic white or that 60's light blue (forget the name)... I can't stand Sun-burst or Black (the "Gilmoure treatment -black on black with white knobs- looks good to me sometimes).
I just bought my first Strat and it's Sage Green Metalic... it's GORGEOUS!!!!
In general I prefer those 60's colors in Strats and I don't really like most of the darker, primary colors for some reason.
how about this !!
So, what color did you get?
Always been partial to SHELL PINK on a strat.
