    Hey,

lookin at this -66 bandmaster blackface. Judging by these pictures what can you tell me? Looks like one of the transformer wires looks new compared to everything else? Anyone spot the tubes by picture?

asked for more pics but comms kinda slow.

    Heres whats been done

    - electrolytic filtering condensers changed
    - cathode condenser in preamp changed
    - preamp caps out of specs replaced by exact same type
    - full cleanup (pots, tube sockets, jack in/ouputs, solderings)
    - bias

Nice looking amp from what we can see. One would like to see all of the transformer codes.

Hard to find a flaw in the photos you provided. From what can be seen, it looks like a good one to me.

It looks good to me. The power tubes look like SovTek 6L6WGC/5881 types. All the blue molded Ajax caps are intact and it's been serviced. What's not to like?

392B7422-3A5D-44DE-B4AA-1DC3E38843F1.jpeg Here is a Md.022848 OT from a 1966 Bandmaster, Pro Reverb or Vibrolux Reverb amp. You can see the white print on the red cloth insulation. I do agree though that one would want to see the numbers on the transformers.

Doesnt look like cloth wire on the pic as its all shiny. How much would an aftermarket ot lower the price on these?

In the Pics in post one, things are so fuzzy that I cannot tell if the wire insulation is cloth or plastic???. IF those pictures are from a For Sale or Auction ad and are the entirety of the visual exposee, then imho the ad is wanting....for pictures of ALL pertinent info. We don’t see a tube chart, either. There are questions to be asked and answered before dealing with value, ime. We don’t see the filter caps.....I want visual confirmation of claims of service.

Good question....I know that at sometime transformers had cloth when the circuit wiring had changed away from cloth. I’ll pull my ‘64
Dual Showman apart and take a look. These details, eh!?!?

You know, when I close my eyes and concentrate...what a concept, eh?....I see plastic insulation, but the old memory banks are becoming corrupted and partially inaccessible. WRAM...Way Random Access Memory.

Yeah while googlin -66 ots and circuits 763. Looks like most do have plastic wire. so could be original.

    Seller doesnt respond too fast..

On the plus side, most scammers communicate fairly quickly to "set the hook" once they get a fish on the line. They want to get the product dumped, before any misrepresentation gets noticed.

Yeah its a guitar store so wouldnt be too afraid. But its good to know what youre buying anyway when buying from abroad.

Started lookin at other blackface/silverface steals the bandmasters/bassman heads seem to be fairly priced. Or a silverface deluxe reverb before -75.
