I found a set of GHS Boomers from the 80s (in a bass case, lol).

I strung them up, and they sounded great, just like the current ones.

I'm glad they never cheapened out like many other products have.

Just found out my favorites are made here at home in Pennsylvania - John Pearse

SIT - Ohio
Curt Mangan - Colorado
Mapes - Tennessee
Rotosound - UK
Martin - Mexico
Dean Markley - Michigan

Pearse strings rock! Quality, affordable strings

My 000 style Blueridge ( which has moderate action, and is loud) loves the tone and slightly reduced tension of the 80/20 Lights

My beat up Martin dread ( not really, just well played/worn), with slightly lower action, and my fingers love PB lights

* a lot with me ( besides tone) has to do with how my fingertips feel on the wound strings, and also tension in terms of fretting/bending/vibrato. Think I'm neurotic here, but so what.
and Pearse strings are ' just right' to me.

Nice - I dig the way they feel and I love how fat they sound. My only critique is I hope they change to sealed packaging sometime soon - there’s been a couple times I bought a pack that had been sitting around for years.
