What am I wearing today? As little as possible because it's really hot out.

Watches? Don't you mean phone, calendar, heart rate monitor, and credit card wallet? I love wrist watches and fountain pens but my fine watches have been in storage for 2.5 years.

For those into watches, I have do have some neat mechanical watches from the 1920s through early 2000s. Now I confess they've been in storage since the Apple Watch 2. At times the Apple Watch 4 even leaves my phone at home. I've thought of buying a mechanical clock for the house to have one around but have other priorities.

I wore this earlier today. Recently I grabbed a few older Combat Subs since the newer ones have the Invicta logo.

I’m one of those guys who’s outside a lot and often in the woods or waters with very poor to zero cell service, so if you carry a phone very long workout turning roaming off it may go dead. I also do things where time precision is rather important, like knowing exactly when legal light ends while deer hunting in Canada. I’d hate to have to pull out my iPhone just to look at the time. And have you ever tried to look at an iPhone while standing with a fishing rod, in bright sun, in saltwater? A wristwatch is so easy...

I quit wearing a watch for quite a few years, then started again when I started business travel (before cell phones even existed). I learned I kinda like ‘em and now also still need ‘em, though for different reasons. And I guess you can tell time with a phone but it seems my entire near smart phone addicted family hasn’t figured that out yet because they never know what time it is. Guess they haven’t noticed all the clocks all over either because they’re staring at their phones!

Why do you wear a left-handed watch?

Watches and guitars and cars are appliances ... Nice to have the best, but as stated above, a $50 digital watch will work as well or better than a $10,000 Swiss handmade ... I appreciate the finer things in life, but conspicuous consumption and the concept of "bling"... Not my cup of tea ...

I saw this movie when I was 12...

I did the same to my watch. Never again since 1982 had one again (in my wrist, there are clocks everywhere)...

... Years after I bought a Harley as well.

I vote for everything. I have my dad's old Vacheron-Constantine, which I wear a few times a year, out to dinner mostly. I have a couple of nice everyday rectangular watches, one of them a Citizen eco-drive that is the least annoying mechanical watch ever. I just came back from a week's camping trip where I wore a Casio with a fabric band and hands and stuff, ten-year battery and it keeps perfect time from year to year. But mainly, lately, an Apple Watch. Usual reasons, keeps track of appointments & exercise & displays texts and calls as they come in. I don't love it but I do use it.

Got the Eco-Drive for Christmas a few years ago. I’ve pretty much always just worn Timex but they have really gone downhill in quality the last 10 years or so. I still use them for work and wear the Citizen on weekends after having to replace the crystal once. It had got too many scratches at work and slag burns from using an oxyacetylene torch. Great thread. I really love seeing all the nice watches. That Omega is really sweet!

The only jewelry suitable for men is wedding ring and watch. Maybe class ring but that’s pushing it. Pinky ring is ok in NY or NJ or Philly, plus then the chain necklace becomes an option.

So a watch looks good and bonus: very easy to know what time it is.

My wife thinks mine is too nice and that I need an everyday watch. I said it is my everyday watch but if she insists, I’ll get a Submariner or a GMT :D

I always liked watches because they’re intricate and mechanical. I had timex and seiko but I didn’t consider anything fancy like a Rolex because I didn’t see the point and thought they were overpriced. Then I got one for my 50th birthday. I was wrong. They are very nice and I’ll wear it every day. I also used to think Custom Shop and Artist Signature Guitars were overpriced. I’m looking forward to being proven wrong on that front too.
