HaHa!....that's funny you don't want to see our Timex or Casios.....my two "daily wear" watches are a Timex and a Casio......I have a really nice Swiss Accutron by Bulova for a dress wear watch.
I just don't care to wear a spare tire on my wrist. ;)

I have a fake Breitling Navitimer that works about 40% of the time if I shake my wrist violently every half hour.

Nice. Totally off mark my freind. The watch in my photo is an arcaic ( and somewhat cheap) automatic that probobly doesn't keep time as well as a $4.00 digital watch you give a child.
So, if you're not into that, so be it.
The reference was to another watch forum.

If you don't want to see hairy man wrists with odd horilogical devices, I totally understand.

They probably keep way better time than the crap I wear.

Wearing my Seiko solar/quartz dive watch because my Seiko 5 automatic is having an issue. The watch face shifted so the 12 is where the 10 used to be. Opened it up, removed crown, took movement out of case, shifted face back, used a tiny dab of superglue to try to prevent future shifting, put it back together. Crown shaft was a little tight going back in and now date/day is funky, not advancing correctly. I will take it apart again and hopefully will fix it this time. I love automatic watches and this one is accurate to a second per day which is good for this movement. But my solar quartz doesn’t lose a minute in a year and it has been zero maintenance for about 14 years now. That’s pretty amazing, I have to admit. No point in taking the Seiko 5 to a watch repair when a new one is around $100. Fix it myself or it becomes a tchotchke.

I have a citizen solar that keeps time way better than my automatics. And yes, i agree the seiko movements aren't worth the money to repair. They are disposable.

I just assumed that with the proliferation of cell phones and, to a lesser extent, metal detectors, the wrist watch would be, well, winding down. Wow, as I type this a banner advertising watches just popped up on my screen.

You're right, a watch is pretty needless in this day and age. And yes, they go with the pocket change, or I just stow it in my backpack when I hit the TSA gauntlet.
I'm not a big jewelry guy. I wear a $40.00 stainless steel wedding ring and that's it. However, arcaic mechanical watches appeal to me for some reason. I'm particularly partial to divers so I can time steaks when I cook out.

Well, then... I'm clearly one of those who doesn't get it.

OK, carry on. Enjoy the hairy man wrists; I'm heading over to the cartoon lion thread.

I missed it too. But I'm a lifetime .250 hitter, so I miss most things.

Understood. Those who play newer guitar iterations probably don't get the telecaster allure either.
