1/29/23... Family worship day, the kids were with us for the entire service so our song selection was somewhat influenced by that.
This is the Lord's House- Rev. Dan Smith. We re worked it a bit to make it a little easier for the congregation to sing but man, I love opening a service with this song!

O Worship the King- old school hymnal song
King Forever- yep, from the 90's...I lean a little toward The Clash when I lead it.

Every Move I Make- Imagine my surprise when this was listed among the songs currently used in Kid's Min! I thought the high school students, who usually sit on the front couple of rows, were gonna jump out of the building.

Graves Into Gardens

We had Everywhere I Go by Tim Timmons scheduled as benediction but the service took another direction with an invitation for prayer, specifically salvation, being given at the end of our pastor's message. So, we rolled into a more contemplative version of Graves Into Gardens (no bridge).

Looks like this Sunday it’s…..

Battle Belongs
A Thousand Hallelujahs
Goodness of God
Your Grace is Enough

Had a good rehearsal tonight. The sermons are working on Acts 4/5 right now and the emphasis is on how the work can't be done in our own strength. So, this week it's:

Power in the Blood (a rock arrangement with sort of a Bo Diddly thing going on, that's a lot of fun to play)
All Hail the Power
Knowing You
I Surrender All

Heavy on the hymns this week but we're doing them "our" way.

2/12/23 is coming fast, and I've got

Forever (Tomlin) bridged to Father of Lights (Barnett/Vineyard)
then
Happy Day (Hughes)
What a Friend We Have in Jesus (reggae version!)
and
Jesus Messiah (Carson/Cash/Reeves/Tomlin)

Old songs but good songs. So what are you laying down and lifting up?

For 2/12
All the people said Amen
This I Believe
Thank You Jesus
Enough (did it twice as the pastor asked us to return to it after his message)
Like Ravindave said, we were loaded with older songs but it worked for this week.

With all credit to the Spirit, we've turned a corner of some kind over the last few weeks. The folks in the congregation are really singing in full voice instead of just sort of mumbling along.

Partially inspired by Asbury, for February 19th we're going less rowdy and dialing up some classic songs:

Resting Place ('90s Vineyard)
Offering (Baloche)
The Joyful Sound (Jesus saves! Jesus saves!)
The Lily of the Valley
Call Upon The Lord
(we need no other hiding place)

How about you?

For 2/19
We're doing a "Year of the Story" chronological Bible thing. This week is about the glory of God coming into the tabernacle, which also fits nicely with the happenings at Asbury.

Let it Rise
Revive Us Again
(use Kim Hill's version for reference)
God You're So Good (Passion)
Same God
Echo Holy

Ascension

Look Up
Rattle
Yes And Amen
Revelation Song
Kinda looking forward to Rattle it's been a while since we played it and is appropriate with the Ashbury thing going on!
I think this was the last time we played that song we do it in D.
