Been digging back into Tom Verlaine recently (R.I.P) and was curious about this image. I recognize the Silvertone and the Tel-Ray-branded Variable Delay 🤤🤤🤤 but do not recognize the smaller amp with the squiggly grill cloth and the coffee cup on it. Thought it could be a Supro or an Ampeg, but searching does not suggest it is... any insights? Can't make out what the name on the grill cloth says...

Oops. Ampeg used that grill cloth, and the logo looks like it might say ampeg, but I've never seen that style of logo before.

Here's an Ampeg with that grill cloth and logo. So, I'm saying unknown model of Ampeg.
Well, that logo and grill certainly check out! Thanks for the find; the cabinet looked like Ampeg to me, but I was not familiar with that grill/logo style.

Silvertone. Valco-made amp marketed by Sears. Model looks like the Twin Twelve. Model 1484, 60-watt head, sold between 1963 and 1967. It came with an MDF cabinet loaded with a pair of Jensen C12Q speakers.
Paul, isn’t that a Danelectro made amp??

Good eye on the Ampeg.

I actually owned that very same Silvertone Amp circa 1966. My parents bought it for me as my birthday present.

It used to pick up radio stations and CB chatter!

To damn with faint praise: It was a better amp than I was a guitarist at the time.

Think that was a fairly brief 80s flirtation for him; he mostly used Super Reverbs and the Silvertone pictured above in the studio, and live relied on AC30s. Actually, in the studio, I think he used tons of old amps.
That explains how Keith Urban ended up with it!

Those Silvertone/Dano 1484 amps as I; the OP have a decent straight sound…sort of LO-res thing. The trem is cool. The reverb is not one that I find useful.…ommv.

I think it was the same model that was fairly affordable until Jack White started using them...
