For band gigs, I've relied on my 1970 Vibrolux Reverb almost exclusively for the last 15 years and always with a Tele. It just works. For home playing I have a couple of smaller amps (Champ, Traynor YGM-3) that are good.

Hopefully everyone gets back to playing live in 2021!

If an amp doesn’t sound good with my tele, I just blame the amp and assume it sucks...

My converted/handwired Blues Junior is still rockin it for me.

    I have other amps....

Silverface Deluxe Reverb, Princeton Reverb, and Vibro Champ...

But the BJ still gets it done, with pretty much any guitar, but I prefer to play Tele's thru it.

    :D

I prefer a single 12 combo. My current amps are loosely based on Bass-mans, my Frenzel has both a Fender circuit and a Marshall and you can blend the 2, very cool.

I own a Marshall Origin 20 and my Tele sounds great through it.

For my old '90 Tele, my 65 Deluxe Reverb was great. Since then, I have been enjoying my G&L ASAT Z-3 semihollow through a THD Bivalve.

Honestly my blonde 1999 Blues Jr., an OD pedal ( very often a Blues Driver, always ON), and my 2004 Standard Telecaster were a great Rock and blues combination for years, in my own band, say 2004-2008.

It was rock solid for anything we played:

I seem to ride the line between clean and dirty with any electric, and just work the Volume/Tone Controls and pickup switch to get to what I want to hear.
So the Tele was no exception-
Blues, Stones, Blind Faith, Allman Brothers, Rockabilly, Country - lot of fun!
With the inherent midrange from the BJ, backing the Tone down a bit on the Tele bridge pickup, and a cranked OD was great for a raw Duane Allman wail, or Jimmy Page clang ( not that good, just that demeanor?)

Around 2008 I kind of switched to using the Tele with a '68 Deluxe Reverb as I joined into a Classic Country band- this combination of course was also fantastic- ( had to sell DR later)

BUT I did really dig the rawer rock tone ( bridge) and Blues tone ( neck pickup) I got with the Tele into the BJ- this was a crazy little neighborhood band for a few years!

Edit: a Blues Jr. is a mutt of an amp ( in terms of its circuit/design) and I am a mutt of a guitar player- really!

Now that you mention it, my Origin 20 does a fine job at getting it done.

Not a photo of my own amp, but this is the one I headline with every evening on my couch.

    upload_2020-12-5_22-36-40.png

    It's a Carr Skylark. It's sort of like a Princeton, I guess? 12 watts. It has TMB tone controls, reverb, presence, and a built-in attenuator. 12" driver. 12ax7/at7 & 6v6 platform, non-MV.

The Mid tone control "overlaps" with the Treble and Bass in a way, it's hard to describe, but it's very easy to clean up ( or dirty up ) the sound with the Mid dial. Blackface scoop to mid-forward British-esque or Brown amp sounds are available, and the Presence fine-tunes the edge. The cleans are gorgeous and that's my my jam, man :D

My other amps have been sidelined since this one appeared. Every guitar I have loves it.

Any one of my SFTR amps. They just have the clean grunt and chime I need....even at very low home volume levels. It's part of the magic with these amps.

    Two best I ever had:

The dearly-departed 1972 Fender Bassman Ten (silverface master volume)...sold it to make a house payment.

...and the first (and only) new amp I ever bought:

1990 Fender ‘63-reissue Vibroverb...bought new-in-the-box in 1992, and have never considered selling it. Works equally well for harp (harmonica) and guitar...loud enough for any venue I’d ever play...looks cool, sounds spectacular...”my perfect amp.”

Twin Reverb. I’m eager to try a Twin Reverb Tone Master. I hear a lot of good things.
