1990 50watt Kitty Hawk Junior, all-valve, 2 x EL34s. I'm not being flippant for a change - the amp is so well designed (esp. the front end) that satisfying and natural-sounding overdrive sounds are available almost at unplugged acoustic guitar volumes. The icing on the cake is that it's seriously loud when needed - I've had the master higher than 5. I'd love a spare!

Pignose 7-100 with an SD-1, or my new (home-repaired) JHS Rock Box - great 80's tones!

I use a Vox Tone Lab tied into a mixer and a power amp. There's also a CD player and turntable connected to the mixer. I plug my headphones into the power amp and play any volume at any time, and nobody knows I'm even home.

My favorite at home/practice amp is a 1960 tweed Champ since the early 1970s. It's had a recap and a 3 prong, but it's still going strong on the original tubes and speakers.

I also have a few recent tweed circuit clones, so I'm tweed fan. But my 56 year old Champ still amazes me my each time I turn it on.

I also use a Vox VBM1. Really versatile amp - don't think 'all' it can do is Brian's orchestra sounds. Nice looker too. They often come up on eBay and go for reasonable money.

Here's a photo of that 1W Wangs setup, I am loving this thing for quiet practice with some decent volume on tap. I was using my THR5 but now I like running my pedalboard and reverb tank through the 1W and into my 2X12. Best lower volume tone I've ever heard. It's also a perfect platform for testing out 12AX7 style tubes. Stock is two 12ax7 and a 12au7 - power tubes are actually half of one 12ax7 + the 12au7. Hmmm, maybe I'll put a NOS 12AY7 in V1… You can even use it as an OD pedal.

I bought a Peavey Transtube EFX 258 for $30. I'm really surprised by the tone. I like it a lot, and didn't expect to. The effects are fun to goof around with but not real great. It's plenty loud on the gain channel, and has a "vintage/modern voice switch. I wish there was just a little more headroom on the clean channel and I could for sure jam with it.

I have a Vox Mini 3 I use in the living room, and in my music room I have a Vox AD120VT, a Tech 21 Trademark 10 and a Kustom Defender 5(H). Any of those amps are fine for practice.

No no, the question was "What amp do you use for home practice?", not "What amp do you use for home?".

I use my 1972 Twin Reverb. When I want to play quiet I turn it down, when I want to play loud I turn it up.

In my bedroom, I actually have a mid 90's Hot Rod DeVille 4x10 with a 12AY7 in tube 1 socket, & a passive volume box in the effects loop. Amp Volume is set on 9 or 10; while the volume box in the effects loop dials in a bedroom level...fo' real.
