I just turned 40 and the grey has been coming in for maybe 2 years now. Not too noticeable with my hair cut short, but shows on the sides when I need a haircut.

Early 30's, right after I got married.

    Coincidence?

I've heard that going grey is from a lack of minerals. Don't know if there is any truth to that. I'm 31 and it has begun. At least there's still coverage on the dome! :)

You're not losing hair, you're getting head.

Started with salt and pepper around 35. A bit more now, especially the temples and sideburns (and beard when I have one) but still salt and pepper into my 40's.

I got my first gray hair when I was 6. Yup, 6.
I'm in my mid-30's now and rocking the salt n' pepper look with no intention of dyeing it.

I have always had black hair, and am now 54 years old, and it's still mostly the same except I have a little gray by the temples, but still not much. My dad is always amazed by that, as he was pretty gray way before that, but then again he had six kids and I had none.

Got my first few grey ones in my late 30's. Started going grey in earnest by 40. Now I'm 50 and it's almost completely grey, although my friends are polite and say "greyish". I wonder if that's the same as "oldish"? :p

My condolences. I am similar to you and have been losing my hair in the male pattern as they call it as well. My brother.....full head of hair and no grays and he's 36. Life ain't fair, that's why God created Leo Fender.

I only noticed in last few years so from late 40's, remember having my haircut looking down and wondering where all this grey and white hair was coming from?
But it was only real the sides so didn't notice it until someone took a pic of me at a gig once.
Will post it when I can find it!

I guess 40ish it started for me and in a few weeks I'll be 60 with a full head and still more dark than grey. That said, I can grow a serious white beard though!

Mine started in my early twenties. Now that I'm pushing 40 pretty good, I've got good patches of grey hair on both sides of my head.

My grandfather started going grey at 19. It varies from person to person.

I was grey by the time I hit 35.
Think about it. If you turn grey at 35, by the time you're 60 you've looked the same for 25 years. If you turn grey at 60 then all of a sudden you look like an old fart.
Steve has ALWAYS had grey hair (probably) and he looks great.

I started going grey about my mid-50s, but after chemo in
'08 it went more white. I'll be 65 in October and still have a
    full head of (white) hair.

I started going prematurely gray at 23 and was almost white by the time I was 50. Now I have it dyed to have mostly brown in it. Looks better on stage!

I began getting gray hair at 30. By the time I was 40 I was getting the senior discount everywhere I went. By 45 my hair was white. I'm now 64 and have snow white hair. Just got my 1st haircut in 40 years, way long. I had more women flirt with me about my hair and some did lots more than that. White hair has been good to me. Don't sweat it and enjoy it while you can young man.
