I know this isn't a big hit known to many, but this song still takes me back to the summer of 1984. Me and three friends took off from MSU campus in June and just drove all over Michigan and then down the Lake Michigan coast and then all they up on the other side to Wisconsin. We spent the summer on just about every beach on that lake, amongst other lakes. We slept in the car, the beach, and crashed with people that we would just met on the way.

That's a pretty good system. I might pick Jim Croce's whole catalog, choosing on that basis (from college-days summer)

this song always seemed to be on in my teens at the beach... we'd get a coke and some strips on 18th st in Newport Beach, Ca body surf all day... ride the bus for .25 or get a ride from someone we'd run into.... play baseball at night, then back to the beach for parties and cold beer.... it was a great time to be alive....
