Does your hot sauce have to be super hot or do you balance that out with flavor? Some people believe that just being super hot is what makes a great hot sauce. Could it be that flavor could also be a deciding factor? Even if a sauce is mild if it has good flavor I would like it. What do you think? My new fav is good old Franks Red Hot original. Simple, available everywhere and flavorful, IMO. But I’ve tried many exotic sauces and finally settled on this one.

I mean, honestly if you use the search function, we've done this countless times, i bet it averages once every other month, seriously

anyway I'll give the same answer i did last month: depends, are we talking hash browns, wings, cheese tortillas, eggs....?

I go through LOTS of Huy Fong Foods Sriracha. Not very hot at all but I enjoy it. Most mornings I slather it on my scrambled eggs.

I can tell you it is NOT this. I bought it at the store tonight to put on some chicken. I figured it would be a mixture of Old Bay and Frank’s hot sauce. It was...well...not completely horrible, but just weird tasting. I would not recommend it. 9298ED9A-9539-4C86-A617-2662D2ADBA48.jpeg

After the search, Cholula gives me the best balance of flavors, heat, aroma, etc.

I'm sure I posted this before, but my favorite is Ass Kickin' Carolina Reaper Hot Sauce.

I could put Cholula on ice cream and I'm certain it would taste better. Nothing else comes close IMO, unless I am in the mood for HOT.

I tell people that I put Sriracha on my Sriracha.

Although I notice that Frank's Hot Sauce is now available in rural Australia. I might have to try some and see what the fuss is about.

Hanks Hot Sauce. They have a Cilantro infused sauce that is absolutely insane.

    Hey it's all right.

I like Sricha (sp) rooster sauce a lot on lots of things
I also like tabasco for lots of general uses

I've got some specialty sauces too that i can't recall the names of right now

If you're talking hot BBQ sauce, Famous Dave's Devil's Spit can't be beat

I'm probably a bad source of information due to the large quantity of hot sauces up in this house but it is definitely about flavor more than heat for me ...
Crystal (Goya until we had a political falling out) is my favorite for Cuban food
Louisiana Hot Sauce is my favorite for Cajun
Old Bay hot sauce is my favorite for seafood (a damn good sauce if you can get your hands on it)
Sambal Oelek is my favorite on eggs (not exactly a sauce, more of a chili garlic paste) and anywhere where you'd like a little heat and a little bit of a smokey note
Hooter's medium is my favorite on wings (also not exactly a sauce, more of a hot sauce/butter paste until heated)

Local bbq has a clear red HOT pepper sauce, or maybe just pure pepper oil. I love it. I can't seem to find it online, and they only give out these tiny cap size portions. I save it up and put it in a bottle. Let me know if anybody knows what I'm talking about, and knows a source. I also like good ole Tabasco, and Crystal brand hot sauce. They really have good flavor to me for both table use and cooking.
