okay we all get inspired sometimes from other threads and I got thinking after the most road worn gear thread that I’m not sure I’ve seen this type of thread yet
And I’ve seen some crazy clean late 50’s early 60’s teles on here
What’s your cleanest piece of gear (probably mostly guitars but I say any amp or such pre 1980 counts)

Well, pre-1980 lets my pretty PRII amp out... that means my cleanest piece of vintage gear is:

Yes, that’s the same as my “most road worn.” :D

My cleanest (read only) piece of vintage gear is a 1969 Kustom K100 head with matching 2-12 cab in Cascade Sparkle. It actually is virtually mint, no tears, no blemishes.

1968 Drip Edge Twin Reverb. A little cheat however: the guy I bought it from drilled a honking huge hole in the faceplate, forcing me to find another faceplate for it- got one that looks almost new! Tolex on the amp has a few nicks, but nothing readily apparent on casual inspection. I did have to reglue the Tolex on the bottom of the amp- it was there, but loose. 20180312_184734.jpg

I'll have to get some later. I swear I'm telling the truth though!

My 61 Deluxe. The ot was bad when I got it (that was the only reason I could afford it); apparently the original owner blew the ot years ago and stuck it in a closet after, never had it fixed. It still had the original “canvas” cover with it.

That brown deluxe makes me want to cry a little bit. Wow. Years ago I had an opportunity to pick up a brown Princeton and passed. It. Up.

@Dan German, what are those Dano convertibles like to play? They look pretty cool but I’ve never seen one in real life. They remind me of a more upscale, finished Harmony D
Stratotone. Like, holding one would transport you directly to a 1960s garage band.

I've only ever had 2 pieces of vintage equipment; both amps. My '59 Supro Super and a '65 Gibson Skylark. The Super is a bit worn at the edges, but, then, so am I. The Skylark was filthy, but cleaned up nicely.

I like to argue I have the World’s Cleanest Violet Ram’s Head. Maybe there’s someone out there that has a pristine original box, then they’d have me beat.

1955 Fender Pro Amp. Low serial number 5E5-A with original Jensen P-15. My father bought at a garage sale in the late sixties for next to nothing.

76 Gibson S-1. Case has seen better times but the guitar is clean.

I have an original '55 Pro too, maybe not quite as nice as yours along the bottom edge, but my cleanest vintage piece.

My 69 Deluxe Reverb. Spotless on the exterior, had some work done inside.

    The '67 00-18 is pretty clean (for a '67, anyway), I think.
