I've loved Lesters ever since seeing Slash play his in the GNR music videos.

Put a Duncan JB in the bridge, and even a mediocre LP sounds great.

I’ve concluded LPs and Teles are basically spirit cousins.

People seem to like to say that the SG is the “Tele of the Gibson line”.

But for whatever reason to me the Tele and LP feel and play more similarly.

Whereas to me an SG is more like a Strat. And I see to take an immediate liking to these, then slowly fall out of love the more I play the SG and the Strat.

So now I have only Tele’s and LPs.

Congrats, an LP you love is a beautiful thing.

I've only ever owned one, and once the honeymoon was over I sold it. I really didn't find it comfortable back then. But, people change, accept it for what it is OP, it might mean a brand new musical adventure for you.

Thanks for that clarification. That means that it is closer to what a Standard was before Gibson made the regular production Standard into something that is not a Standard, correct??? (;^)... Gibson has gone down the rabbit hole, imho...but there’s a lot of that going around, right?
Why George would have put a Custom t-Rod cover on a Standard is a mystery??. For my money, it is odd that he would have had the gold top refinished. But...as I learned today, that guitar was named for Lucille Ball, who started out as a blonde and went red. As Desi was won’t to say..’Splain it to me, Lucy!?”

    enjoy the guitar.

You'll play it for a while and then plug a single coil back in.

    That should do it.

    Distortion gets annoying eventually.

    And then...

LP's are cool.... for everyone else but me... No idea why....
When I sold one and got a Strat back in about 1999, my speed and accuracy went up like lightening. I mean in a matter of a couple of weeks.... Again... no idea why...

Yeah but...nothing does clean like a single coil imo.
