Just saw these on Sweetwater’s website. $500 less than Fullerton Deluxe models.
Made in USA. Alder bodies. Rosewood fretboards. Bone nuts.
Anyone else interested?

Interesting. They had a "Fullerton Standard" series before they had the "Fullerton Deluxe" series that was only 2 models (ASAT Classic and Legacy) with only 2 color options at a time. The Fulleton Deluxes came about to offer more color options, fingerboard options, etc. than the Fullerton Standards without going to the full "built to order" option list.

It looks like they're trying that again in order to have some models priced in-between the import Tributes and the Fullerton Deluxes - maybe only these 2 color options for now, plus these are satin finished bodies ("frost" being G&L's term for satin finish) to keep the costs down.

I have 2 G&L USA made Fullerton Deluxe guitars (1 "T" style 1 "S" style). Both are great sounding, high quality, instruments. I would compare to Fender Custom shop instruments - but they cost a lot less.

My G&L ASAT Classic was my first Tele-style guitar and it's still a favourite.

I wouldn't mind getting a G&L ASAT Special with the soapbar MFD pickups someday. Dunno how different it would be but if it's shaped like a Tele, built like a G&L, and has MFD pickups, I imagine it will sound and play amazingly.

The G&L website doesn't show a Fullerton Standard Series so these may be what Fender refers to as FSR models built to spec for specific dealers or markets. That would be my guess.

I bought this old ASAT Special Deluxe for $700 many years ago from a friend of a friend who was thinning his herd, and even though he had this made for him, he didn't like it because of the "fat" neck...it is a great and "nasty" Tele and built like a battleship....glad I now own it
