What’s the next guitar you’re going to buy? Seriously.

I have had one guitar for nearly 10 years (no exaggeration). It's a Tele and I am good with it, but I am getting a Strat come hell or high water this year to add to my collection of one. Life has gotten in the way too many times. I work hard, take care of my responsibilities, and I feel I really earned it.

I don't buy guitars. However my next build for myself will be a Les Paul Special-ish affair.

I had a Strat knockoff for almost 30 years. Then I finally got to where I am in a financial position to buy a guitar here and there. You’ll get there too. Enjoy it.

I’d like to have Ron Kirn build me a Jazz bass in the next year or so. I hope he doesn’t retire anytime soon:( He does such great work.

    There's a few offsets and a Gretsch or 2 that I want.
I'm definitely doing some P90's in a guitar or 2.

I’m probably going to get a Fender electric XII reissue as soon as they’re out.

I've been looking at getting another Gretsch...a Double Jet w/Bigsby (G5445T).
I'd also like something short scale - 24" or slightly less, but haven't come across anything that catches my eye yet.

I’ve got a few guitars now but I had one guitar basically from when I was 17 to about when I was 46. I did have a second guitar (a Strat) for a short time in 1992 but I couldn’t bond with it so I sold it. After I built a Telecaster I got a little obsessed with single coil guitars so I have a couple of Strats, my homebuilt Telecaster, an Ibanez solid body Artist and the one that started it all, my 1981 Ibanez Artist Semi-hollowbody AS100.

I have a RS 420 and they are a great guitar; perfect neck.

A dual humbucker guitar is in my future.
I will probably get a LP Traditional.

I’ll finish building my Jag and then might be done. I was considering a 335 or a 70s Fender for my next landmark birthday, but might get a Nord keyboard instead.

That’s my plan exactly: in LPB.
I’ve wanted an electric 12-string for a while — it’s something that will definitely get used for a few songs in our set, so the guitar-buying guilt will be minimised. The Fender Electric XII reissue seems to sit at a good price vs quality point: I’ve read too many dodgy reviews of the cheaper 12s and some are just plain expensive but a good MIM should be just right.
Also it’s fugly but in a good classic kind of a way...

A harley benton TE-20 to convert to an esquire with a Rob Distefano Huge Lion and wilkinson bridge with comp saddles. Probably all-in $200.00, can't resist.

I'm fantasizing about a Gibson ES 330 right now. They have a '59 VOS in a local store and as soon as I can find a little time I will try it and probably walk out with an Ibanez GB instead.

I just purchased a Marshall Origin 20. Plexi goodness at a reasonable price and volume. Loves it.

I'm going the P90 route. Squier Tele Custom II or Epiphone SG Jnr.

Or, if I can afford one, a Revstar.

Instead of buying a 12-string electric, couldn't you just get an octave pedal?

A P bass is somewhere in my future I think. Probably a Warmoth parts build.

I have a Hohner through neck J bass I like so it might be years away...

This thread reminds me I have been meaning to put a pickup in my 12 string acoustic.

Lately I've just been buying hardcases for the small collection I have.

A few little upgrades and a Fender style amp or two and I'm good for now.

Ive been on a mod kick recently. Started with my tele then i got a douglas spad for a cheap thrill, once i finish those ive got my eye on a few more. Thinking one of the indonesian limited edition hss bullet strats to basically make a poor mans shawbucker strat. Also on the list is a red strat or tele for my wife to match her coke kitchen/collection. Eventually id also like to build a t60 type guitar, i loved the versatility of mine but gave it to my father in law.

Aside from that i have no current plans to buy another unless i run across a funky basket case that catches my eye/ gets the juices flowing.

I got one a couple of years ago. You won't regret it.
