Cat, you're hungry again by lunch time. A good dog will last you a couple days.
I like a cat because we can leave it alone in the house for extended periods of time, like short vacations. Can't really do that with a dog.
Of course when I was growing up, we just locked em all outside (dogs and cats) and left for as long as we wanted, no worries. Can't do that living in a non-rural area.
I like both dogs and cats, but we are almost petless ... but Charlie keeps staying healthy so it may be a while. We want to be petless so we can travel and not worry about pets left at home and/or boarded.
There is this one little thing about cats. Our dog is trained to use a doggie door, and has never had an accident in the house in the two years he's lived here. On the other hand, somehow my neighbors have trained their cats to SH*T in my yard exclusively. I'm sure their cat has NEVER had an accident anywhere on their property, EVER! If I didn't keep replacing the dirt I've dug up cleaning up cat turds for the last thirteen years. I would now have a hole of sufficient dimensions to just go ahead and install a pool.
A cat is a great pet.
A dog is family.
If you have both, it's the best of all worlds.
Neither for now, we're never home.
I will say from my experience that cats are devious, vindictive, moody, smelly, rodent presenting, bird killing, hiding and scaring little jerks that like to get up on the kitchen counter when no one is looking...after they've been in the litter box.
The last cat we had was my daughter's but she declined to take the cat when she moved out. The cat then determined that my new wife was preferable to me and that I really had no business being anywhere near my wife. I suppose we'll probably get one when we retire.
Yes, they’re both better than people.
lets settle this musically ...
It is widely reported that it's not a good idea to drop dead around your cat BEFORE feeding time.
Dogs always seem to be excited to see each other, but when a cat meets another cat, there's hissing and threats and generalized hostility until dominance is established. As a guitarist, I identify more with cats.
Hey when we're done sorting this out... I have a few more:
Stratocaster vs Telecaster
Chevrolet vs Ford
macOS vs Windows
I think we can do it!
Can’t decide thats why I have 1 of each.
McDonald's vs Burger King
Coke vs Pepsi
Crest vs Colgate
Dove vs Ivory
I’m not sure if anyone has said this yet but... I have to congratulate you on your “boring, useless” thread making it to 135 posts!
They said it couldn’t be done.....again!
I’m debating the merits of a, “Butter vs. Margarine” thread.
