We need a caveat to this poll. Canines under about 35lbs are not dogs. I don't know what they are but they're not for me. Otherwise I love both cats and dogs.

Introduce a laser pointer and cats lose all that cool they pretend to have.

My favorite is across the floor and up the wall.

Dogs because they love you and do as asked. They also play for fun and enjoy just being around you and family/friends.

Let’s see a pic of your cat’s face. From behind, she looks exactly like mine. Same black, Brown, and white in the exact same spots.

I quite like dogs. In fact, I like them so much that I will not subject them to my sorry, lazy, neglectful “ownership.” Cats, on the other hand, require so little from me that they fit my pathetic lifestyle perfectly.

I can’t find the cartoon I once saw, but it boiled down to this:

    Dog People:

    “Your dog is an ***hole!”

“No, he’s really a Good Boy.”

    Cat People:

    “Your cat is an ***hole!”

    “Yeah.”

You're 63. Retire already! I retired at 46. I'd had enough after 33 years of full time employment.

    Dogs are better.

Because although cats are good, dogs are more better than cats.

The obvious answer is cats... and I'm gonna move right on from this thread without reading other responses, as I have no wish to lose respect for any of my fellow TDPRIers who cannot see the obvious truth of my answer.

BTW: dogs are pretty frickin' awesome, too. :D

I respect a dog with a job. Here's Ron who we puppy walked a couple of years ago. Our cat had him trained within about 2 days.
