cats. so much easier to deal with.

dogs are too smart for their own good - they make bad judgment calls too much. as a result i have met more bastard dogs than cats. in the event you get a bastard cat, they're just damaged, but very predictable and easy to navigate. but a dog, could go any way really, too finnicky. they're too much like people, except even more "i don't know, i just don't like this guy."

i also really dislike how dog owners with dogs that only they could love (have problems with strangers) particularly seem to like forcing them on everyone else and inviting them to the party when they're unwanted. it's a step away from parent with spoiled child.

Neither is better. I've had many cats and dogs over the years. Dogs are more loving but they are totally dependent on you and require a lot of attention. The family is the center of their world. Cat is pretty independent (totally independent if it's an outdoor cat) and doesn't need as much attention. Which fits you best fits with your lifestyle. If you're gone a lot, a cat fits better.

Dogs and humans have been traveling down the evolutionary path together for at least a hundred thousand years. They can read our emotions, and we can read theirs. Was reading something recently about dogs and humans are the only creatures that communicate things with their eyebrows.

Pretty sure it's much more recent that we've adopted living with cats. Living with one is kinda like living with an alien - you have no idea what they're thinking. They do what they want.

Ex took the dogs in the divorce a couple of years ago, so right now I've just got my fiance's cat. She's not very loving. Kinda comes up and wants her ass scratched, then leaves when you're done.

    I do miss my dogs.

We've got two of each, plus the macaw and a rabbit. All but the macaw and Persian cat were rescues.

The macaw, who is 20 years old, is a pain in the rear, like a 2 year old with a megaphone and a chainsaw. He knows a few human words plus he also can bark and meow.

Our most recent addition is the tabby cat. She's a wild nut with a sweet streak and loves messing with the dogs.

The Persian is a mischievous ball of fur but very sweet and gentle.

The rabbit loves to pee, poop and chew on stuff but is well behaved and gentle.

The Chihuahua mix is my pal and she's very laid back most of the time. Everyone is surprised how friendly she is.

The Yorkie-poo adores my wife and is one of the smartest dogs I've ever owned. Her favorite hobbies are barking and chasing squirrels.

I’d also like to add that we have a very different social contract with dogs and cats. Cats largely adapted to us for their benefit. Dogs are more or less wolf slaves. We pretty much bred them to do specific work and to largely kiss our ass. Idk, much less interesting critter

I believe cats and little dogs are proof God has a sense of humor, because there is no real reason for either to exist.

Cats will take care of themselves for the most part. Dogs are a full time obligation.

If you want, go up the middle, get a Bengal cat: Mostly a cat that cares for itself but will walk on a leash if you like. Will also drive you crazy like a dog asking to do so and require non-stop attention all day long. Best of all worlds. Or the worst.

Love both, but prefer cats. I have 2 cats now. My cats are inside, and they have never destroyed anything. I have had dogs that destroyed a couch, patio furniture, pool equipment, etc.... I enjoy my cats affection and playful nature.
